Iznaroh

Relationships: Iznaroh is a solitary person, not really feeling it appropriate to hang around large groups of people for too long. After all, he is an Illithid. To most, he is the very embodiment of everything that makes the Underdark so scary. As a result, the only real relationship he has is that with his Deity herself; Lliira - and to a lesser extent, the woman who saved his life. During his prayers, when she is able, Lliira may often speak to him, reassuring him he has her favor. An act that brings piece to his thoughts. At least for a little while. He does, one day, hope to find his savior in order to thank her properly, but his first priority these days is spreading the joy of Lliira the best he can. Even if it means putting himself into situations he would rather avoid. 

Personality: Iznaroh is relatively mild mannered, caring for other people's happiness more than his own. He doesn't think twice about putting himself in danger if it means helping someone in need. Feelings towards his nature as an Illithid tend to be a little resentful, but he never complains about it and simply tries his best to perform his duties. Even when getting hailed with verbal and physical abuse he never once breaks from his mild mannered, calm demeanor. 

History: Iznaroh never did fully adopt the Illithid's standard sadism and emotionless disposition. That said, he never considered himself as an emotional person. Because of his strange affinity for empathy - a trait usually ostracized in most Illithid societies - his fellow Illithids - reluctantly - used him as an ambassador, sending him to different parts of the Underdark and occasionally to the surface world in order to either trade or settle diplomatic disputes - a strategy they were obviously new too. On one such excursion to the surface, he was attacked by a gang of bandits, robbed and left for dead. He would have likely died all alone without anyone ever knowing... or caring if it were not for a Half-Elven woman wearing a vibrant red tunic and a large hat sporting a huge white feather. She healed his wounds and helped him find a meal in a near by group of Stag, effectively saving his life. It turned out that this woman was a Paladin of Lliira, Goddess of Joy. Her kindness forever changed Iznaroh and he began to feel happiness, sadness, fear and all other manners of emotion, a trait that was strictly forbidden in his underground dwelling. Once he returned, he was quickly exiled and for the longest time he wandered the Underdark without purpose - stripped of his connection to the Elder Brain. Then, he decided to travel to the surface world and became a Cleric of Lliira, himself - it wasn't easy, as even the Joydancers of Lliira's church were exceedingly reluctant to let a Mind Flayer into their ranks. However, he proved himself worthy after he demonstrated his already developing Divine skills by healing a sick child. He hopes to one day meet the woman who saved his life so that he may thank her properly. The unnaturally large white feather being his only lead.
