Zahra's pretty skinny and all legs. You can see her ribs under her body while she moves but this is not because she is underweight. Instead, it is caused by extreme fitness, much like a racer. She often keeps her mane shaved and tail short. She likes to really style up her forelock which gives her a unique look.
Personality
Zahra is fairly anti-social. She does not like to interact with her fans and keeps a low profile for the most part. If you manage to get to know her, you will find that she's pretty blunt and may even be a little harsh. But you'd also know that she's actually very giving. She routinely donates large amounts of money to charities completely anonymously. She will also beat up anyone who's bothering you. Definitely takes on the mom role in the band.
The only one who knows that Zahra has dealt with her own trauma is Andy, who is basically her brother. The charities she donates to are usually ones that target kids in bad situations. She hopes that nobody else will have to go through what she and Andy did when they were kids. She cares so much more than she will ever let on, and only Andy knows it.

Story
Zahra didn't have a good start to life in the slightest. Her father was madly in love with her mother, and they were overjoyed at the prospect of having their first child together, with the hopes of many more children to come. But complications during pregnancy made the dream of many children unlikely. Both her mother and father were devastated at this prospect, but were still glad to have a child anyway.
The day of Zahra's birth, the previous complications made for a risky delivery where both of them had the chance of dying. Luckily, Zahra survived, but unfortunately her mother did not. Her father though, was stricken with immense grief. Not only would he not have many children with his beloved like they had dreamed, but now his beloved was gone entirely.
When they gave him Zahra, with the name that his love had chosen, he shut down. Unable to care for the filly himself, his mother had to come in and help care for her grandchild. With her father being so distant, Zahra ended up bonding with her grandmother. But eventually she succumbed to old age and once again, Zahra's care fell to her father.
He hated her. He blamed her for poisoning and killing his soulmate. And now, she had poisoned and killed his own mother. Zahra was the reason why both of them were now dead. By this time he had become an alcoholic and would often slur his words and he yelled insult after insult to the small filly. This terrified her and she tried to run away, but he beat her for doing so. She had to stay there and listen to his drunken rant.
Zahra very quickly learned that she had to hide whenever her dad came home. And if she wanted to eat, she had to give her constant thanks to him that he was allowing her to do so when he could have just let her starve. Many times he didn't even feed her, so she had to sneak out to steal food so that she wouldn't go hungry.
