Roe (Wild West)

Prologue/Exposition

Roe was raised in a Sun Elf community far seperated from the rest of society. She spent a good 70 years of her life dedicated to studying and learning about the world she lives in, but never actually left her community to get a proper understanding of the many different cultures and societies that she's spent researching. She is the daughter of their communities matriarch, both of whom were held in incredibly high esteem. Around age 80, Roe claimed adulthood for herself, an uncommonly early age to do so in Elven society, but due to Roe's prestigious reputation it was hardly questioned. She was only met with praise and accolades.

As Roe adjusted to 'adult' life, she grew disillusioned and bored, finding herself lacking any real motivation or drive. She began to test the limits of their community, causing problems for others, stealing things, tricking others, and generally destroying the peaceful atmosphere of the community. In one such rebellion she got herself hurt on the magic protecting her closed off community, but due to her pride she refused to admit the mistake she had made until the infection had gotten so bad she had to have her pinky finger amputated, a lucky outcome due to the severity of her wound.

Instead of seeing this as a wake up call, she only plunges further into disallusionment, eventually running away from her community around the age of 95.

Not long after she's out on her own, Roe crosses paths with a tiefling woman who attempts to rob her. Roe, panicking, tries to fight her way out of the ambush. This results in her attacker dead, and Roe desperately trying to comprehend what she just did. She manages to collect herself and stumble into the nearest town, and straight into the local tavern. There she meets June, a charming older tiefling woman, with a kind voice and face. She soon realizes however, June isn't what she appeared to be, and in fact is the leader of a local crime ring, and the woman Roe had killed, was her sister, which June has been searching for. Roe ends up joining June's opperation out of fear and guilt, and stays with them for a few years, holding a messy relationship with June for this time.

ACT 1

Roe's luck finally breaks when one of her marks, a young woman named Pewter, appears to be her perfect ticket out of her predicament. She manages to use Pewter to help her escape, all while endearing herself to the other woman, who believes that Roe saved her from the pack of vagabonds. While Pewter soon realizes Roe isn't as chivelrous as she first believed, they stay together, adventuring to make up for the money Pewter lost to June's gang.
