Tsukihi in the depths of despair when her lover was near death mistakenly begged a nogistune ( evil kitsunes who hold no divinity within their souls ) for help, believing that all kitsune were kind to humans . She was taken advantage of consequentially resulting in the nogistune seizing control of the spirit in the poor young girl and feeding on her life force for amusement. By some miracle, the nogistune who kept her soul captive mysteriously left her body. Tsukihi regained control over her consciousness yet found that she woke up to four hundred years in the future. She discovered that in the time that she had been possessed she had inherited physical characteristics of the nogistune who had left her body . After grieving , she came to terms with her new immortality and form and sought to prevent more poor souls from ending up in the hands of the nogistune .
