Suffering insomnia due to loneliness and depression, Val becomes the target of demon Vera who asks for her soul in exchange for her desires being granted. She refuses, ending up with a demon assigned to following her until she changes her mind. She and Vera fall in love together and become very happy girlfriends, turning Vera into a human.

She works as a veterinary technician and loves animals, even taking in a stray cat into her apartment.

She has a cold disposition to her, but she shows her affection to others through her actions rather than words. She is very thoughtful and considerate of others' needs. She just isn't great with words.
