He strikes many as yet another starving artist putting on high class airs to maneuver in a society where the rich and well-bred are the most profitable clients. Thing is, they're hardly fabricated manners.
A young nobleman with no expectation to ever inherit anything, he's a romantic sort that's gained an honest obsession with the artist's life. His demeanor doesn't really show his sense of whimsy these days, though. Desperately searching for a muse, he's eschewed whatever monetary help his elder sister offered in lieu of building his name from the ground up. It's difficult to tell how much of this is naivete and how much is just sheer determination on this one single front. Alas, he's been rejected from any formal academy or atelier--he truly IS working from the ground up this time, at least on artistic terms.
Maybe portraiture is his real ticket, if only he could find the proper muse. Or even an adventure, perhaps? An opportunity presents itself in the form of good-breeding and a shock of strikingly red hair, but something about her and her blond companion seems... dodgy. Oh well, it wouldn't be the first time he's been robbed blind--there's no way she could be THAT much trouble.
With her lively features and shock of distinctly Flormari red hair, she would be a brilliant subject to paint--maybe a series of paintings! Her look is incredibly distinctive, even her eyes have an unusual hue to them... Actually, is she familiar, somehow? She certainly isn't willing to tell her name that easily.
Landlady and fortune teller on the side, she's a prime example of the ways people in this neighborhood of Flormaria City hustle on. She's not fond of his messes and occassional schemes, but as long as he pays (which he sometimes doesn't), she can put up with it. Maybe. At least his sister is very, er, convincing, when it comes to keeping Arens housed somewhere with plumbing.
