Eden’s parents are mostly unknown. His mother was Acruxian, giving birth to him mysteriously. It is unknown who the father is. His mother saw him as the greatest gift and loved him dearly, even though their time together was only for several months. Producing the unpure offspring, she was assumed by Zaeyar to have betrayed his trust and to be a threat to their peaceful existence.

As he was an anomaly among the people, it was seen as the best fit for Zaeyar to handle his care. Or at least that’s what Zaeyar insisted on. Let’s say Zaeyar is not parent material, at all. Yes, they did keep a close watch on Eden and counseled him when necessary but they were absent and neglectful. They didn’t see him as anything other than a possible threat. Something that needed to be kept in line. Another duck in the row. Zaeyer did their best only to keep Eden in order. Nothing else.

As one could imagine, Eden’s emotional state and confidence were very low. He had almost no one to rely on, no place to call home. And the one person he could rely on was inadequate. He struggled greatly with regulating his emotions, dealing with constant harassment and loneliness. When he wasn’t within the large and echoing walls of the Zaeyar's citadel, he wandered around Acrux and the forested outskirts; looking for random things to eat or play with. And perhaps looking for any sign. Anything to tell him he’s worth something. That he’s more than cursed blood. That he’s somebody who’s worth living for.

"I'll Keep This One"

One of the few times Eden felt special was when Zaeyar gifted him a furin chime, that Eden wears as an earring. To Eden, it’s sentimental; however, to Zaeyar, it was nothing more than an alarm bell. A warning for others to stay clear, and somewhat of a tracker to help keep tabs on Eden’s location. Some of Acrux’s younger folks, mostly children Eden’s age or young adults, were not keen on fleeing and looked to instigate and harass him. This usually resulted in physical fights. As Eden was notoriously known among the community because of his heritage and close association with Zaeyar, these fights were frequent. Even if it was painful, these altercations fueled Eden’s combat skills and he became quite experienced in heavy-hitting attacks.

Evidently, Eden's upbringing was a whirlwind of chaos.. not only did he experience neglect, judgement, and isolation, but also had to endure the sole purpose for Zaeyar's mercy on his life. The constant forms of studies and experiments that were enforced on Eden, made him feel like nothing more than a thing to prick and prod at. Nonsensical methods of determining how Eden ticked, how much his body could take of what, and for how long. Just what was this half-breed capable of and how far could they be pushed? The wounds would quickly heal, the blood would dry. But the internal damage remained and would plague his dreams and actions long into his adolescent and adult years. A good outcome of this is he was able to learn about his capabilities and grow strong from those harsh lessons. Although the downside was the PTSD. Panic attacks were more than common during his sleepless nights. Sleep never felt so earned but at the same time so far.
