Hemlocke

• fancy lad, incredibly charming, high-key savage. comes from money, though he's quite vague when asked where his family's inheritance comes from. 
• was a student at byrgenwerth for a short time before things got real weird. has an incredible curiosity for the occult and macabre; has the tendency to get really philosophical at the drop of a hat. hem enjoys the hell out of deep contemplation about the cosmos and their place in the infinite universe as a species, though his  views are comically fatalistic. gets a really big kick out of the great ones-- fascinated by them but is absolutely convinced they're all alien-esque assholes. could go on for hours on how micolash had everything comin'. 
• was a spy for cainhurst for a cool second before that also got real weird (and everyone died).  he left byrgenwerth fairly early on in his studies to join the church as a hunter (finding himself too restless to dedicate himself to studies alone). vastly disliked for his boisterous opinions (that were rarely asked for, if at all) and morbid love for the beasts he hunted (he cut a few open and poked around inside in the name of science on more than one occasion), hemlocke was tolerate at best. had the church known he was penning letters to cainhurst's last warm body, consequences surely would have been heavy handed. 
  • im debating that-- wwaaayyyyyy back-- he might have had a family member or two that were cainhurst descendants? probably pretty distantly related, but after the slaughter their money trickled on down the line and eventually made it to hem's grandparents/parents. hence why hem's avoidance to the whole "how tf is your family so rich" question. 
• is actually pretty thankful everything went to shit because if the church found out about the whole spy thing it would have been a bad time. hooray for eldritch horrors!
