Aristocrat always asserts himself as the mediator in tough situations. If there's a chance to talk through something he'll always take that path over wanton destruction.

Early Life

Aris' birth is a mystery to all including Aris himself. His father is said to be a forest spirit from the earthly mountains, and his mother is an unknown demonic being settled deep in the darkest parts of Lust. His childhood was spent roaming the woods of hell, braving the wilds of rural Hell.

The furthest Aris can remember is his life in the city of Dis, the capital of Hell. He spent his time doing odd jobs and living at one of the local shelters. As a young man, Aris aspired to be more like the princes; admiring their power and ability. He wanted to make a difference in the world and stand up for what he believed in just like them.

Hell itself was still in its infancy, thus the government had yet to address power imbalances relating to monstrous demons. Monsters were seen as a lower class by humanoids due to many lacking the ability to speak or behave like Humanoids. This lead to constant discrimination towards Aris in his younger years. He believed the system would prevail, nonetheless. Sadly, his view of Hells justice system would soon change.

It’s clear that certain Princes were treated as lesser beings by Satan. Prince Beelzebub and Prince Leviathan were monsters and therefore seen as lesser in terms of intelligence and power. Satan did very little to mitigate the growing issues. Monsters were growing concerned that there would be no place for them in Hell the longer this issue went on.

Law School

A big challenge for Aristocrat was entering Law School. There was a major divide between humanoids and monsters in the education system as well. Monsters, despite being just as intelligent, couldn’t afford the same that others could. Many Monsters also had issues speech quality where some could not talk at all and others were difficult to understand. These issues could be easily catered to yet no one seemed to put that much effort into it.

Aristocrat earned a scholarship via anonymity only to be disputed once it was revealed he was a monster. After arguing his case Aris was begrudgingly accepted into the university, proving his worth and status among other students. Acceptance was only the beginning. Aris had to study hard to keep his scholarship, under constant supervision by the board. If Aris screwed up once he’d be booted off-campus.

After successfully holding his place at the school for long enough, Aristocrat graduated top of his class. He was chosen to be valedictorian only to be passed over due to “unforeseen circumstances”. Even after that final stab to his dignity, Aris was considered a renowned lawyer taking on many monster cases other professionals wouldn’t give the time.

The Grand War

Years of practice and building his career only lead him to develop a distaste for the stale system he’s been working in for far too long changing nothing. The more he thought, the more Aristocrat blamed the Princes for developing such a dysfunctional system. This leads him to bitterness and writing paper after paper to propose new bills for monster rights. These didn’t get very far and probably never made it to the Princes themselves.

Heaven and Hell were at their most docile. They were calm but calm enough to ignore how broken their societies were. Word spread that the angel Victoria was proposing a solution and Aris was interested. He sought her out to make a deal of a lifetime, a deal that would change the entire balance by force.

Victoria planned to usurp god or what she assumed was left of god. Truth is, no one had been in direct contact with the being for years. Aristocrat offered his help in return for her help in changing the system in hell. Aris wasn’t keen on being the new prince, but if his plan failed and he didn't reach the devils, then he would do whatever was necessary to change the system.

Victoria and her legion had control over Heaven, forcibly binding both it and Hell together to secure their dominance. Aris set his sights upon hell with many of her troops in toe. He was met with fierce opposition going level by level to extort them for his military purposes. Lust was easy to fall, but then he was tasked with Gluttony.

Gluttony’s level was difficult to traverse, as Prince Beelzebub was a monsterous opponent with guerrilla tactics seen only by one so familiar with their homeland. The only possibility Aris had to succeed was to get him on his side. Aris used logic against Beelzebub in his most vulnerable state. He too wanted the monsters of Hell, like himself, to be treated as valid citizens. He backed down to save his people the hardship of the war.

Aris secretly went from Gluttony to Envy while his soldiers were fighting a war in Greed. War profiteering was on the rise but he had different plans. Aristocrat approached Leviathan on his own terms giving him a way out of the war. While Leviathan wouldn’t join him, he wouldn’t stop him. He was too loyal to the princes to go against them like Beelzebub. Not that Leviathan could blame him for the unethical treatment he’d undergone all these years.

From there the rest of Hell would be easy enough, but with Beelzebub’s resignation came a decision. Satan opted to compromise with Aris to protect the rest of Hell from the army behind him. Aris’ demands were civil and a long time in coming. The Princes weren’t perfect but they were becoming exactly what they were trying to escape from Heaven.

Victoria succeeded in Heaven and Aris set laws in motion to the betterment of hell. The worlds were back in balance and becoming better now that their goals were accomplished. In a sense, the war was comparable to the Princes fall from grace. The only difference is that this was solved before it went too far.

Aftermath and Rebirth

The two of them changed a broken system by force. Victoria uncovered the secret heaven’s been hiding for years, becoming the new ruler of that domain. Aris himself struck a deal with the princes and made changes that never would have come with his passive job as a lawyer.

The war left the balance in a state of rebirth that would change the course of life as we know it today. Not only were Heaven and Hell working together, but demons and angels were working hand in hand as well. Humanity was still in a docile state of ignorance but that would be resolved at a later time.

Victoria and Aris remained close, slowly becoming intimate and soon marrying. The two fell in love during the war and even when the excitement was over their feelings grew stronger. The goddess of Heaven and an advisor from Hell had become a loving couple in the remnants of the disaster.

Their love turned into a longing for a child. Thus, Flora was born of both their souls. They now had a darling baby girl to love and care for. Later on, they would even have a granddaughter by the name of Fauna. All of them keeping their roles in the balance while maintaining a family together.
