Verglas

Verglas is a non-binary (They/Them) cyan ice sprite who looks very stern but is actually extremely shy and nervous. They remain alone most of the time, only ever coming down to the city below their mountain once and awhile to interact with its residents. They are a magical being and thus has hold to the power of frost magic. Their most noteworthy feature is their large spike protruding out of their head and their big red scarf wrapped around their mouth.

Verglas's magic relies solely on their physical energy, slowly sapping it out of them when they use it, making them very tired. Their ice magic can range from summoning ice and snow, to freezing, to sprouting ice spikes out of the ground. Very rarely if they're feeling intense emotional distress, they have a chance to summon a blizzard or snowstorm! Of course, with these powers being primarily ice, they are weakened by warmth and fire, but otherwise they wield incredible chilling power. Verglas doesn't quite know how to control it however, leading to them not using it very often out of fear of hurting their friends. These icy powers also give them the ability to "respawn" a few hours after death (most common way of death by melting), making them effectively immortal. Fortunately, death happens a lot to poor Verglas, so this power of theirs is very much appreciated.

Verglas has a very rich history leading to their birth, being made by a dying goddess named Froscia, who controlled the element of ice. After getting in a fight with her friends, being other goddesses, she was fatally wounded and couldn't go on. She made one last ice sprite using the last of her available power, and gave them the powers Verg now possesses, before turning into a permanent ice sculpture inside the very mountain Verglas lives on. She had hoped that Verglas would revive their lost society of chilling ancestors, but unfortunately they have not found a way to go through with that yet! Until they can find a way, Verglas makes the mountain their home and attempts to protect their territory from intruders.

Verglas doesn't have many friends since they've been on the mountain for most of their life, still learning how the world works. Two of their friends are B2 and Cherri, seeing the both of them as their best friends. They like to hang out with the two of them when they're feeling lonely, letting the both of them teach them how the world works and have them marvel and question Verg's icy and mysterious nature. Verglas can count on the both of them to keep them safe and they hope to return the favor.
