Upon encountering the Death's Head Dawnweaver, many tend to feel a sense of apprehension, trepidation, or just downright dread. Perhaps it is his eyes, blank and cold, or perhaps it is his spines, sharp and foreboding, or perhaps it is just the atmosphere of despair that envelops his every step.

Hemlock's formative years were somewhat marred by his tendency to act first and think later - the vast majority of his traits were gained in situations of high agitation, without much thought given to their future uses. As such, he's come out a lot creepier than he would have preferred to appear. This has led him to be somewhat paranoid - Hemlock is convinced that he must be cursed, because how else must he have ended up with such a horrible inherent? His own sense of self-worth is very much tied into what he thinks others perceive of him, and is very susceptible to agitation by teasing - luckily, however, he would rather talk someone down than fight, if given the choice.

Hemlock's demeanour leaves a lot to be desired - nowadays, he's quite sulky and reclusive, and doesn't really like talking to people unless he has to - a few unfortunate experiences with some blunt-tongued individuals have informed him that yes, he does look really quite creepy, especially with his permanent scowl and searing eyes. Beneath his chilled facade, however, lurks an individual with far too much compassion for his own good, especially for children and those seen as 'outcasts'. He's also pretty recklessly brave, whenever push comes to shove - this ties into his whole 'impulsiveness' thing, but it's gotten his loved ones out of scrapes a few times.
