Profile

Eileen Morsink would have liked to become an astronaut, but as it was "not realistic that they would succeed" and "they only felt that way because they watched too much science fiction," they instead let their parents (both primary school teachers) convince them to go to teacher's college. They did graduate, but disliked their internship enough to get a job as a customer service representative for a large tech company instead. After a few years, the aliens who had been chilling out in the solar system since about halfway through Eileen's second year of college decided to recruit someone to help them practice English. This job would involve working with actual professional adults, who were studying out of their own free will and probably wouldn't be as disgruntled as the typical customers of Ananas Electronics. You also had to live on an alien space ship for six months, but that sounded like the opposite of a problem.

There were many qualified applicants, but Eileen happened to have a crucial quality which those other applicants lacked: "not being a secret agent." Corporate and government spies were excited about this opportunity to learn the Interplanetary Alliance's agenda six months early, and in order to increase their own chances, they had leaked the most incriminating facts about the other applicants. If Eileen had simply been so good of a spy that their rivals hadn't been able to find out, those leaks probably wouldn't have included a link to their novel-length fan fiction of long-running science fiction series "Interstellar Journey", in which the human spaceship captain and his alien first mate were fake-dating for diplomacy reasons, and it took them fifty thousand words to realize that they wanted to kiss each other on the mouth. (Eileen still got the job.)

Typically hits the snooze button on their alarm until there's about five minutes to spare. Active on social media (under a fresh account after that thing with the job application), and is the reason that the alien diplomats know what memes are.
