He's set in the medieval era, as the son of a rich noble. So he ends up  thinking highly of himself and really caring about his appearance. He's  still very friendly and social, though a bit arrogant during  conversations. For his human form, he decided to wear that mask purely  for aesthetic, since he looks cooler with it haha.
