Personality:
Usually he's nice and well manered. He enjoys talking to people and exchanging stories. Though, if you get sassy with him, he'll get sassy back. He'll give no fucks, but take no shit.
He enjoys being in charge and the center of attention. He'll get pissed if you look down upon him. In his old friend group, they just let him do what he wants, as they knew that he get's the job done.
Oliver's interests for art and research probably come from his childhood, when his parents told him everything be had to be and to trust in the already garhered knowledge, but he hated it and kept sneaking out and learning his own truth.
Even if he's sometimes overconfident, he know his boundaries and never insults people, who he knows that they don't deserve it.
Story:
He comes from a viking village that occasionally get's raided by dragons. They didn't have cruel, dragon slaying traditions like Berk, but they also didn't like having them around.
He's been an only child for a while and his parents, well, they expected a lot from him. When he was ten he found a dragon egg and realised that dragons can, in fact, be their allies, but he kept it a secret until the right time comes. Though, it never did.
One time, after a big fight with his parents, his pride got the better of him. He took off with his dragon and didn't return.
A bit later in life, he and a couple of dragon enthusiasts made a group of dragon riders and fought off dragon hunters. That lasted a couple of years, untill, after an accident, the group realised how dangerous and reckless it is, they disbanded.
