Personality.
Otohime is almost always seen with a gentle smile on her face. It's hard to tell what she's ever thinking. She seems quite harmlessly playful with her people. She makes jokes, and it might even seem like she doesn't take her job too seriously.
To her people, she is a savior. She's seen as generous. Someone willing to give another chance in a world that won't spare it.
But to those closest to her, she is unpredictable. She always keeps her plans to herself, and her plots will almost only come into light once everything is in place.Trivia.
- She has a mark on her nape, signifying that she's been chosen by the gods to help rule the land.
- Her left eye is always covered, whether it be with bandages or with her hair. She says she lost her eye during the flood, but some will say that she's always had a missing eye even before then.
- Her hair is always as if it's flowing underwater.
- She used to be a samurai. However, a few centuries into her rule, she has started to mysteriously lose feeling in her hands. Because of this, she's no longer dextrous enough to do the same things as she used to in her youth.
Rule.
She is one of the leaders of Oimiizu. She's the one in charge of the country's military. She focuses a good amount of the land's resource into training soldiers, as well as creating armor, weapons and the likes.
Though she only specializes in a part of the country's responsiblities, she acts as the head of the land. Her fellow leaders have mixed feelings about this, but she has the final word in most things since she was the one that brought them back their land in the first place.
She's the only leader left after the flood. She originally ruled old Oiimizu with 3 other leaders for 4000 years. However, a tragedy struck. They describe it as 'the day the sky turned red' or simply 'the flood'.
On the day of the flood, a large group of demons came after the heart of their land, the Jeweler's tree. If the demons found a way to corrupt the tree, it would start producing powerful demons called yokai. As a last effort attempt, Otohime made a choice to sink the land rather than let it be taken over.
Only a small percentage of the population was left, this included Otohime and some of her most important acolytes. They would remain as refugees in a neighboring country. After 100 years have passed, Otohime finally fulfills her promise to her beloved people. She found a way to bring their land back.
Urashima

Otohime grew up with Urashima. He practically raised her, and he's the only family she knew. She was very close to him, finding a lot of fun in trying to make him losen up since he's such a stickler for rules. However, he passed away right before she was chosen to become empress. Nowadays, she makes no mention of him. She speaks as if he never even existed.
Yoshiro
right-hand
Yoshiro is one of the top people that Otohime trusts. They've known eachother for 4000 years. He's also the only person left alive that remembers her from the days before she became empress. Their relationship was once closer, though. They used to spar, joke around and break rules together. He's always by her side, but the distance between them is ever-growing. Otohime has only been calling him "my general" and Yoshiro refers to her as "my lady" or "my empress".
