Backstory:

Xenga was born to be a warrior, as many of Zandalari were. Though he was trained as the others, it soon became obvious he was somewhat of a runt compared to the other Zandalari. He wasn't as tall as the others of his age, nor as physically toned. He trained and fought just the same as them, but wasn't quite fit for the pure power approach his tribe was known for. His parents' and trainers' attempts to help bulk him up were ultimately useless. Xenga stayed as a smaller, slimmer version of most of his peers. He excelled in other areas though. He was much faster and more flexible than his large counterparts; but that sort of battle style was looked down upon in the tribe. One more advantage he had was his ability to commune with the spirits, as well as the Loa. Though certainly not on the level of an Augur or other magic users in the tribe, he could still use their power.

With most of the tribe looking down on him, it was a surprise they didn't get rid of him. They worked him harder and harder as the years went on, but they never tried to get rid of him. Unsurprisingly, however, he tried to escape whenever he could. Some way or another he would always find his way back to his home though. Usually this was by force, and he was punished for it, but he was still back. But he kept trying, and trying, and trying until it worked out. And not only did he manage to get away, but he had a plan as well. There was no guarantee his plan would work, but he had a plan.

With the Zandalari's extensive historical library he was able to learn of all the other troll tribes. He would have loved to find any of the tribes, but he took a special interest in the jungle tribes. Once he was on his own he sought out to find some tribes on the continent of Kalimdor. The most prominent he heard of was the Darkspear tribe, which he immediately began researching. After learning what he could he set out for the Echo Isles, looking to find the Darkspear leader.

Xenga made his best attempt to disguise his Zandalari heritage. The glowing marks on his skin were covered and his eyes hidden in any way he could. His unusual build made it much easier to blend in, luckily. On his way through Kalimdor he made sure to stop by whatever troll villages he could to lend them a hand when they needed it; and also just to learn about the trolls around the continent. In his travels he managed to find plenty of Darkspears that pointed him in the right direction.

As soon as he reached the Darkspears' home Xenga was met with armed guards. It was understandable, letting any stranger into your home base wasn't the smartest idea. Telling them he wished to see their leader didn't do much to calm their nerves, they were in fact even more suspicious. After a while of convincing them of how he wanted to join the Darkspears, they escorted him to the leader.

Upon meeting Vol'jin, Xenga immediately explained how he traveled across the continent to find the Darkspears after being disowned from his own tribe. He requested to help the trolls, as well as train under them. After much deliberation Vol'jin eventually allowed Xenga to reside with and assist the Darkspears. Under the Shadowhunters of the tribe he learned to harness his spiritual powers, as well as focus on his more dexterous battle style.
