A young women whose goal is the study of dimensional phenomenon Mellisa travels looking into weird legends and local rumors alike where she may end up. Having lost the love of her life to a dimensional rift several years prior she hopes one day to find them or at the very least where they might have ended up. Driven to find out what is causing these dimensional holes to tear open in her world she moves from place to place searching for clues.

She's basically magic cop/detective. Currently works in the Magic anomalies division. She's who you call in when weird magic shit starts happening.

To put it mildly Mellisa has a short fuse. She has been known to let her anger get the better of her on several occasions, to the point of her ignoring her surroundings and even her own injuries, to finish what she had started. You make one bad remark  and you better be ready to get knocked out cold.  Due to the nature of her quest Mellisa has become quite a bitter person on the subjects of love and friendship.  It is not that she does not believe such things have value, but instead that there is no point if such things can be gone in an instant. Though shes a bit standoffish at times, she really is a caring person, as long as you don't upset her too much.

• Tea, only damn thing that can calm her down

• Letting some steam off, (in a fight, at the gym, etc) anything that lets her get some anger out.

Aerin: Actually thinks of him as a good person. Absolutely baffled why he works for what is basically a demon. Wishes she could talk some damn sense in to him Would punch some sense into him if she thought it would help, but she knows it won't Legit freaked out by his plant magic, finds it weird and freaky not to need a catalyst AND seems to be alive.  Both knows what it's like to lose someone close, so he's the only one she's comfortable going to when she's having issues. "He is way too good natured for his own good and that demon of a cat is taking advantage of him. But....I know that he's safe there. So for now I won't say anything."	Charles: Her boss Often share tea together, will usually chat about current assignments while "relaxing" in this manner. Butt heads a little bit, but ultimately agree on the best way to do things. Mutual and professional respect. "The Captain? What about him? He's a stern and serious leader, it's to be expected. This is important work after all. When the chips are down that's who you're gonna want, someone focused who will get shit done."	Maribel: They "get along" well enough Are at least along the line of "work friends" since Mellisa comes to paradise so often for intel. Don't see eye to eye though, Mellisa's morality is very black and white and that annoys Maribel. Will litterally be having a casual conversation that will break out into an argument than go back to a casual talk.  "She's as stubborn as an ox, makes me wonder if there's one somewhere in her family. If her bar wasn't such a good place to get info I wouldn't bother dealing with her."
Esmeray: The only person that she ever really cared about She's missing, not dead she's just SOMEWHERE, and that's more upsetting than being dead to Mellisa. The only person she ever opened up to, and now that's she's gone her heart has snapped shut.  "She...I...I just. I just miss her so much. I feel like everything is hollow without her.  AND YOU If you, I you tell anyone you saw me talk like this I'll wring you neck you hear?"	"The shifting Rook": Doesn't understand why he would reject his human heritage. Is actually sort of envious of him, able to change his form at will. Hell to just be ONE species. She wishes she could do that. The only person she thinks could even remotely understand her blight in everyday life.  Hopes to eventually beat some sense into him.  "Oh the one masquerading as a beast? He's...hmm. I don't know. I can't say I like him, but I don't hate em either. I mean I get it. Take it from a half-breed like me. Being human in this world is...hard. "	Hemlock: Her partner in M.A.D.  One of her closest friends, even if he drives her up the damn wall sometimes. Appreciates that he constantly reminds her take care of herself during long cause, gods know she won't. Even with them being so close, sometimes just feels uneasy around him, usually when he's being serious. "HemLOCK is a headACHE! *pause*... *sigh* But when he's not, he's a pretty damn good friend. He's probably the only reason I haven't burned myself out completely by now."
