Kenzie

Extremely desperate for money and already not very loving towards their only son, Kenzie's parents sent him off to [REDACTED]'s headquarters at 15, not caring what would happen to their son as they viewed him as a disgrace to the family and only cared about the compensation they'd be getting in return for giving him up. He was forced into extremely dangerous tests, including testing how his body would react in both cold and hot temperatures in order to understand his cryokinesis abilities. He hated the cold ones the most. While there, he met a sweet girl that had the ability to teleport (Aimee) and found himself pretty infatuated with her. When given the opportunity to chat after long hours of testing, Kenzie and Aimee would discuss each others hopes and dreams and talk about their home lives and whatever else a kid could think of. Kenzie lost track of how much time passed, (years, probably) but eventually he grew tired and angry so with Aimee's help, he devised a plan to escape.

Kenzie was used to fending for himself as he had used to run away from home for a couple hours to even a few days - he knew the area pretty well and was pretty smart about how to acquire food and clothes and other necessities. Unfortunately, Aimee wasn't used to this and she often complained which he found extremely annoying - as if things couldn't get worse, he learned Aimee gave herself up to [REDACTED] and she even tried to convince him to give himself up too. He refused.

Kenzie spent months on the run on his own, trying to escape [REDACTED] and his ex-best friend Aimee for good. One night, he attempted to shoplift a small gas station but didn't expect to get caught or called out by the worker at the counter (Lee); the moment he saw Lee he experienced a feeling similar to his reaction upon meeting Aimee. This feeling turned into a extremely strong attachment and almost borderline obsessive and unhealthy. [REDACTED] had ruined Lee's life and he assumed he could swoop in and be her hero - obviously this went nowhere. When Aimee captured Lee to lure Kenzie back to HQ he lost his mind - furious, enraged, he fought as hard as possible, talked sense into Aimee and after rescuing Lee and the other test subjects, he burned the whole place down. Only coming out with a few bruises and a broken arm.

Having nowhere to go, Lee offered to let Kenzie stay with her and her brother in his apartment. Kenzie couldn't understand why would Lee let him stay with them knowing how awful of a person he was - but he decided to accept this offer and with Aimee's guidance, started therapy to better himself. Kenzie now happily lives with Lee and Ari, and is even dating the man (which, was a little strange at first, but Lee learned to accept it); he found his own people to call family and is free to be himself around them and he wouldn't have it any other way. Kenzie even got back into music, starting up a pop-punk band and finding ways to incorporate his powers into his shows which the audience loves and he's often a hot topic on social media!
