Little is known about Lilith's life before her time at the Daggermark Poisoners Guild and Lilith intends to keep it that way. Rather than outright close her mouth about her past Lilith has instead opted to spread several different and conflicting rumors. On one hand shes regaled those with a story that shes an escaped subject from Hermia, whereas on other occasions she muses that shes a distant relative of Tragshi the Herbalist which many have come to believe given both being half-elves with snake affinities.

The truth of the matter atleast is that Lilith had come to the Daggermark Posioners Guild to become the apprentice of Tragshi following a letter she recieved, and vehementally defends that she is not responsible for the recent death of last king of Daggermark. While Tragshi has not confirmed that what Lilith says is true about her apprenticeship she has also no refused the claim either and her actions would seem to somewhat confirm the statement.

The truth of Lilith's past though is she came from the eastern city of Cordelon, growing us cladestindly as a Vishkanya who passed mostly as a Half-Elf to the locals. She was raised alone by her mother who died mysteriously when Lilith was only a teenager. Lilith raised herself alone from then which required her to interact more with the locals and while she had kept her identity safe from a distance her day to day encounters led the people to discover her secret and begin to treat her differently. While no one was outright cruel to her at face value she noted the distant stares and hushed whispers as she passed.

Lonely and frankly with no adult supervision, Lilith began to fiddle with her innate poison proficiency and the latent magic she had always been blessed with. Lilith came to befriend many snakes the lived around the village and with their assistance was able to keep her home free of pests and her garden mostly unchewed by vermits. Despite living soley with her mother, Lilith knew very little about her but was given the chance to know more when a visitor knocked on her door. It was a woman who looked a lot like her wearing a deep green and black hood. The lady invited herself in more or less and spoke that she was her mothers sister named Aurelia before revealing a writhing head of snakes and all too familiar ophidian eyes. Lilith learned her family came from Riddleport and her mother, a member of the Sczarni had fled in order to attempt to distance herself from the crime involved in the family.

Aurelia offered Lilith a deal, she would teach Lilith a great deal about magic and take care of her but in return she had to do as the family desired. The young Lilith was enamored by Aurelia's beauty and confidence and being alone for as long as she had led Lilith to agree. As promised Aurelia gave Lilith an awakening lesson in magic and granted her an Amphisbaena familiar before disapearing into the night as quickly as she arrived. Despite how quick the lesson was, with the assistance of her Amphisbaena Lilith quickly began excelling at Witchcraft which nicely blended with her understanding of poisons and plants.

Regarding Liliths end of the deal, it took a long while for her first correspondance from her family, but it did eventually come delivered to her through her familiar mimicing the voice of Aurelia. Her first assignment was to continue to cultivate her talent and in order to do so she was to travel to Daggermark and become an apprentice to Tragshi the Herbalist of the Daggermark Poisoners guild. As instructed, Lilith headed west per the directions Aurelia gave her and ever since then had been learning poison and magic at the guild.
