Profile

Polaris is the first member of the Noble bloodline, and remains the blueprint for all her descendants.

Polaris was born in a hidden community of dragons. The five kingdoms of dragons all faced a common enemy, in the form of the demons that hunted them and ravaged the outside world. But still, they bickered amongst themselves, and remained no closer to fighting back against their enemies. Polaris was the uniting force they needed. She exhibited the serene spirituality of the air and water dragons, the defiant bravado of the fire and lightning dragons, and the peaceful sensuality of the earth dragons. She could wield all five elements and was the first to introduce the union of the five: light magic. She was universally viewed as a chosen one or a prophet because the auditory hallucinations she experienced were given meaning by her followers. They thought that the gods were speaking to her and established a system of five elemental gods eerily reminiscent of the five elemental heralds: who are highly-dangerous angels.

As a military leader for the dragons, Polaris fought away a population of demons from the pocket of land that would become the first human settlement. She also united the five dragon kingdoms with the elves and the phoenixes to establish a new city-state, which was later called the Immortal City, because it was inhabited by the longest-living races and was, for a while, humanity's heart and stronghold. After uniting both her own people (dragons) and several populations outside of that, Polaris realized that she could do the same with the rest of the world. To that end, the Templar Knights were established, and demons were gradually eradicated from the planet, leaving only mortal-demon hybrids. Mortals then ruled the planet, with angels and demons banished to heaven and hell, respectively. After that battle was won, the Templars grew four more branches, each of which was suited to fulfilling a different service to humanity. The Knights became more of a standing army most of the time, but periodic demonic invasions have kept the branch alive.

Few in Polaris's time questioned the quality of her character; her visions and unique magic were just so convincing. But later generations examined accounts of her behavior, and Polaris became even more of a legendary figure than before.
