Edgar

When the great titan Epinoim awoke, threatening to tear the world apart in its fury, countless beings of land, sea, and sky alike all rose to stand against it, and find a way to save themselves and all they'd ever known. But, unbeknownst to most of those who came together in these efforts, earth, water, and air were not the only elements to take part. There was a fourth: Fire.

A long time ago, Edgar was not a feline, but a bird - One with brilliant, burning wings, and tears that could heal any illness or wounds. And he was far from the only one. But such a life was not meant to last. He and the others of his kind were hunted for their gifts, and eventually, when the flames overtook them, they began to change. What choice did they have, if they wished to live and be free?

Having lived as a fox, lion, and hyena before, Edgar eventually took the form of a black tom, staining his fur with the soot from his own fiery death as he had all those times before as a disguise, and took to living as a normal, albeit winged, cat. In this life, he took to the role of founder and leader of a Scavenger Club... which would eventually lead to his meeting and assisting the chosen hero in her quest to save their worlds.

Once his true nature was revealed, after all had begun to settle, it was one of the hero's companions who approached him. Perhaps it was sympathy, sorrow, or even guilt, but when the god learned of the phoenix's circumstances, he spoke of another cat in another realm, who found themselves in a similar circumstance to Edgar's own... and offered him the chance to join them.

Edgar agreed.
