Björn is a Dainty who had a Selkie mother and a Dainty Father. His cape is his skin that allows him to change into a seal but he keeps his Dainty tail in addition to the seal tail when he changes. He was raised by his mother, although sometimes he got made fun of for his Dainty tail. When he got older his mother told him he needed to learn about his Dainty side as well so he left the selkie tribe to settle in his current spot. He ended up joining a dance troupe that is close to the coast so he can go swimming whenever he likes.

When Björn first arrived he made his selkie skin became his cape, it was concealed well enough that he didn't feel he was in any danger. Note: Legends say that if you take a Selkie's sealskin they are bound to you because they cannot return to the water. Odette happened to meet him first, as she spends all time she can on the beach, and she was the one who introduced him to dance. He has a natural sense of rhythm and found it similar enough to swimming that he was accepted into the dance troupe as an apprentice. Odette and Björn ended up dating not long after he joined the troupe. The relationship didn't last very long, not because of they didn't get along but because they just couldn't see each other as anything but friends. They got along very well and are still very good friends but they just don't have any chemistry. He's always there to encourage Odette, especially when her boyfriend of 2 years broke up with her. He considers her almost like a sister and is very protective of her, epecially around boys.

Björn met Ceinwen when he joined the dance troupe. Although he first dated Odette she caught his eye right away. For one thing, she was one of the only dancers without hooves. The majority of the dancers have hooves, and he was a bit suprised to see that others in the troupe didn't have hooves. After he and Odette decided they weren't anything more than friends he began to show interest in Ceinwen. She thought he was attractive and replied to his attentions positively, but kept the pace slow. They are now an official couple and although they are very fond of each other they are not loud in their affection for each other. They might hold hands in public, but they relationship is probably best characterized by 'slow and sweet.'
