Mikhail awoke one day in a bed he did not recognize. In fact, Mikhail did not even recognize the four walls that surrounded him. There were a couple of things he absolutely knew; (1) this small apartment was his home and (2) he was an angel. How he got down to earth or why, Mikhail had no idea.
After he woke up, he took some time to take in his surroundings. Mikhail mused he should've been more alarmed, but for some reason, he felt calm. The apartment was a little plain, but he somehow felt comforted. Mikhail took to exploring the city next. It was midday and people were rushing around trying to get to their next meeting or going out for lunch with their friends. Mikhail watched it all in awe.
By some stroke of luck, Mikhail landed a job at a small history museum in the area. He is incredibly knowledgeable despite being a bit of an airhead. He works primarily as an archivist but is often asked to give tours as well.
The true reason to why Mikhail is now living amongst the humans is because he committed a great sin during his time in heaven. Mikhail fell in love with a human. While falling in love with humans is not ideal, it isn't enough to get an angel banished from heaven. What does get one banished from heaven is when an angel turns the tides in favor of the object of their affection. Mikhail saved his beloved's life without the other ever knowing of his existence and Mikhail fell from grace.
