Lapis Lazuli

Personality: 

A very "left brained" indiviual. Citrus is constantly disinterested and cold to most people, typically avoidant of saying much more than what needs to be said. She is analytical and quite methodical about most situations;  despite this though, she might not give the impression of such, as much as it seems she is winging most of everything shes doing, making her quite logic over emotion but just as impulsive at times. This makes her come across as insensitive too, as shes not always sure what to say during emotional matters for others, and many people do not seem to quite know how to approach her more often than not, unless they are more used to her mannerisms. In stark contrast to these aspects of her personality, Citrus can be very open minded for a Homeworld gem and was easily swayed to simply stay on Earth and adapt to humans with a strange level of ease after almost studying them(she also denies "really paying much attention"); and can be quite soft hearted, saving a human girl on a whim (even though it was with the excuse of it being for her own benefit rather than then saving the girls life at first) and being willing to protect Roast Town and the influx of hikers and campers who would get themselves into accidents for centuries. Not to mention, being completely indifferent to the sight of Pearls being independant and seemingly having no real opinion on the matter. Having completely tossed most Homeworld beliefs to the way side of her own accord with little intrusion from the Crystal Gems long before meeting them. Says "its simply the logical course of action" for herself. 

Shes stubburn too, as seen with her refusal to accept this invitation; and her refusal of her feelings for Mr Verde, the pharmcist which she often visits. but being easily flustered and quick to shut down mentally upon seeing him.

"Citrus" was only 1 of 3 Era 1 Lapis Lazuli sent on a high ranked high-risk task to assess whether or not the planets near Earth were still worth surveying for terraformable and usable qualities to the Colonies of Homeworld - as they attempted to scan areas surrounding earth not very long after the corruption and failure to use Earth to its full potential -  they failed. Deeming it too much of a risk factor as corrupted leftover gems were on some planets in a milky way and absolutely vicious; at least one lapis lazuli was lost and got her gem shattered, alongside a Quartz Soldier. As they were unprepared to handle the confrontation and what was left of the prior attempts. Leaving goes awry as corrupted gems had stowed away and attached themselves onto their ship, they would then crash onto Earth with no means to contact aid. All of the gems would separate off to different paths after trying to navigate the new terrain and surviving a few corrupted gem attacks, eventually leaving Citrus by her lonesome.

Out of fear for more corrupted gems, and her own naturally paranoid or disinterested personality. She wound up simply living in a cave for years and years, isolated in a rural area, spiralling into despair and into a deep depression where she would reflect and mourn her previous life, but watch the humans grow to survive beyond the cave. At some point, a little girl who was camping with her parents would get lost nearby and Lapis would help her on a whim,  and as a reward for keeping her safe, the girl would give her a stuffed Rabbit. Something that Lapis grew to treasure despite the resistance to accepting a random soft trinket from an alien at first. As she came to realize how fragile humans really were, and even appreciate them from afar thereafter. 

She would stay isolated like this even as humanity progressed onwards, never directly getting involved with them and only helping the humans that were in danger when climbing the mountains or hiked around her area.  Causing her to be known as "an ancient being that protected the area for many years" to locals, essiationally becoming a cryptid in the area. These rumours come to the attention of the Crystal Gems eventually in Modern-day, as an increase of dangerous encounters with "crystal monsters" begins to crop up, and they are sent to investigate.

Upon getting more accustomed to living among the humans in the town after the issue is solved, She begins to have a crush on a slightly out of town pharmacy worker in the area she meets during her first visit into the human town nearby while still keeping the area safe and doing patrols, frequently visits him.

▪ Despite her actively helping humans and being on good terms with the crystal gems after this incident, she refuses the invite to become an official Crystal Gem herself. She keeps in contact vaguely with them afterwards. 

▪ She gives herself the nickname of "Citrus" at random when Steven asks if he could call her by something else as to not confuse her with the other Lapis he knows. Many others come to start to call her that as well. 

▪ She likes drinking things for the taste, but does not enjoy eating food and refuses to do it. 

▪ She says lemonade is her favourite drink when in reality she just buys the cheap brand from the pharmacy 100% to see her human crush who works there and uses it as an excuse. 

▪ "Royal Lapis Lazuli"s only real difference in real life to more typical cut Lazuli is that its often times seen with more Pyrite (gold fleck impurity) and is often considered deeper purer blue. These cuts also tend to be bigger.

▪ The inner meanings of Lapis Lazuli are strength and courage, royalty and wisdom, intellect and truth. ▪ I like to imagine the Little Girl Citrus saved is now an elderly old grandma who left always remembering Citrus, and if she were a canon character in an episode, she would go back to the hiking trails and theyd meet again, but with her grandkids with her. to thank her. 

▪ The grey shirt she wears is not a part of her "gemform" clothes, its human clothing. Meaning if she were to be poofed her gem and the shirt would remain.
