Gawain is a Knight of the Round Table serving under Arthur Pendragon, tasked to protect the lands of Camelot from a variety of evils. He was turned into a vampire during an unfortunate incident whilst on the job.
“It was an unfortunate occurrence really, if only Arthur had bothered to deal with those werewolves at an earlier time, perhaps it would have been avoided. I suppose as an immortal, over time you learn to forgive and forget.” - Gawain, in response to the Werewolf Incident of 523
Gawain was a Knight who served under Arthur before and during his rule as King. Sworn to protect the lands of Camelot from evil, Gawain defended the land valiantly against monsters and demons of many kinds along with his fellow Knights.
At the age of 24, he was turned into a vampire during an unfortunate mission involving a rowdy pack of werewolves. Despite his new existence, he continued to serve King Arthur up until his death with the aid of Merlin, who helped him hide his changes from those who would seek to harm him.
After the reign of Arthur came to a tragic end, he continued to live in Camelot, working for Merlin in exchange for protection under the condition the wizard would be able to study him for his research.
- The scar on his arm was gained from accidentally touching the Holy Grail. It was not a pleasant experience.
- He really likes animals, and often feels bad about having to hunt any of the rabid wolves and bears in the area.
- He is very much a noble and courageous Knight, taking his duties very seriously. He was rated as Arthur's best Knight before Lancelot came along…

Uther was always disapproving of his son battling beasts instead of attending court. Arthur is a beloved member of the Knights, having founded the organization and their noble cause. Gawain regards him as a close friend. He helped Gawain out when he needed it most, being the most open to his transformation due to Merlin’s influence. They remained firm friends up until Arthur’s death.
Merlin is another good friend of Gawains. Arthur sent Gawain to Merlin after he was turned, and the wizard aided him in living with his “ailments”. Gawain works for Merlin after Arthur's death, and the two become firm friends. Gawain believes he is a useful ally, although he can be very flaky in terms of being transparent about his actions and motives.
Lancelot is somewhat of a nemesis for Gawain, having stolen his position as the best Knight working under Arthur. He finds the Frenchman insufferable, although can agree he has a skill with the sword. Gawain blames Lancelot as the cause of the incorrect adaptations of Arthurian legend in the future, as he always liked to tell flowery nonsense to the bards, concealing what really often happened...
