Profile

"For honor and glory."
Name Gloris (Glori)
Age 122 (actualized at 24)
Height 5'4"/1.62 m
Pronouns She/They
Species Edeia
Idea Glory

Personality: Gloris is steadfast and stout, with the unwavering invincibility of her own coalition. The Edeia had evolved over the years and is able to see her flaws: she is known to step back to reflect if needed. She knows when she needs help, and isn't afraid to reach out to the people she trusts. Even so, she always keeps her word - even if it takes a year to get back to it.

Despite her resolute nature, she is very laid-back when she is not adventuring or on a mission. Her social status sits in the range from very chill to spontaneously quirky, and is okay with cracking a laugh and joke. Despite her growth, Gloris still is often challenged by the conversation starter, and stutters when she is talking too fast. But she pushes herself anyway, even if it embarrasses her along the way.

When she was Glorious, possessing the previous Idea as the Pursuit of Glory, Glori was held back by her inability to see her flaws. She was often ambitious and exuberant, searching for her place in the world. The Edeia wanted to be in the spotlight so bad, that she almost lost her way to identify with the very Idea she held close to her. She was petty, stubborn, and pouted at the things that mocked her, for she lacked any powers of her own before her Idea shift.

Abilities: Protector of the Vulnerable - Glori does everything in her power to protect the weak, frail and suffering. Her three main physical features grant some form of support to aid in need.

  • The Aureole - Gloris' crest and wisps. Her halo is a symbol of sanctity. She can embed her crest in the weak or cast wisps to ward off hexes, curses and infiltrations inflicted from magic, including Idea magic.
  • The Crucible - Gloris' armor. Her armor can shift freely, and is indestructible, just like her will. She can clad the frail from fatal physical injuries and intended magic spells aimed to cause harm.
  • The Fusillade - Gloris' flame. The flame burns brighter than a thousand suns. Her blaze is therapeutic, and can soothe those who suffer of their injuries and diseases.

Enchantment - Gloris is capable of enchanting non-magical weapons and other items with a glamour of her own Idea magic, forged by fire. The item is iridescent with gold and pink hues and radiates a gentle warmth. It is capable of defending against other Edeia. Gloris is a master of many weapons due to a lack of magical abilities within her previous Idea, and may pull a weapon from her Abstraction, lacing it with magic to defend against enemies.

Awakening - Gloris is the embodiment of glory. Victory. Glori can read the state of a soul and has slightly more advanced soul manipulation than normal. The Edeia of Glory taps into a soul, and brings forth its true potential. Almost like a state of Actualization, the recipient becomes anew. The recipient may change in form and develop non-Idea magic on their own via Awakening, which often is reflected by the nature of their soul. Only the purest of hearts may be bestowed with her blessing.

History: Gloris was born in the very late Age of Secrecy (modern day), before the reveal of Edeia. Her life was stunted when she grew up, living in a rather poor familial household, while battling against her neurodivergent development. Often looked down on by her peers and bullied when young, she was a quiet, humble and lonely woman, wanting to prove that she could live on her own and be independent. To live as herself, for her own glory. She worked and hustled during community college, she knew she could find something at the end of the rainbow if she just endured it a little bit more. Her Idea took hold as she was sleeping, seeing a potential future as very recently, Edeia had re-entered back into society.

By the age of 24, Gloris finished. She was done, but she felt empty, a sense of etterath as she obtained her degree. It was done, but she yearned for the journey she took. The hard work she made, and saw the Idea in her head, as a pursuer of honor. She arrived home that night, and Actualized into the Edeia of the Pursuit of Glory: the journey to achieve the prestige, the climax. She called herself Glorious.

Lost in Pursuit

Glorious often ventured the world, wanting to earn the prestige and honour of others. But when she Actualized, something was missing: she was an Edeia with no Idea magic. An extremely rare case, she was upset, bewildered. She didn't know why she lacked such crucial components to her being, but she was determined to find her way. Until she met a dastardly foe that would change her life - the Edeia of Legion. A corrupted yet charming force, they had crossed paths while extradimensional hopping. As the Legion heard of the Edeia's predicament, the force offered Glorious to join them. That way, Legion gets what they want, and Glori obtains some form of strength. Rather scared, she scolded the walking cult, letting her pettiness shine through, but it did not sit well with Legion.

While the Legion was facing their own battles during the time, they had become Glori's worst nightmare - an unstoppable force to torment the warrior of glory into joining them, even if it's the last thing she does. Glori spiraled into a long battle of wanting to stop Legion once and for all, to the point she would refuse all forms of help. She was over her head, and she dug deeper, fighting not only Legion, but other foes she accumulated in other worlds. She was scolded for her hubris and pettiness, and inability to see the flaws of her being. With that mindset, she would never see the true potential of her name.

Path to Glory

Sometime in the 2090s, she caved, questioning the state of her existence. What was she? Who did she live for? Was she meant to even be…? She sought closure with friends, and they guided her on the path to self-determination. In order to reform her ways, she chose to leave Ideation and take a long voyage across dimensions for a decade on her own accord. A journey, to pursue the glory of her being.

She may not be physically strong, but she did everything she could to help. While armies fought on the field, she aided the injured during first aid. When minorities struggled to reclaim ground, her Abstraction was a safe haven. It all came together when Glori was traveling with a mortal companion. When they were struck in the chest with a trident, Glori took to his side, patching the wound to his chest. A touch of flurries gathered as Glorious' magic began to shed light - the flurries healed her friend's gaping wound. But it did more.

The soul of her friend was tapped, as he changed anew, granted magic from Glori's true power. Her friend thanked her, and became a legend and a hero across dimensions. She saw what she truly could be. The Edeia saw an Idea shift as she let go of her insecurities. Her weakness. And so she let the light guide her back to her Abstraction.

She found what she truly could be as she became Gloris, shedding the past of the endless pursuit and became glory itself.

Abstraction: Glorious' Abstraction is a giant grand citadel built with ornate stone carvings. The land outside is of wonders, surrounded by gentle clouds of wisps and hills, often jagged, poking from the clouds. The citadel has an observatory, which in tandem holds the role of Gloris' room. The interior echoes and resonates within the fortress, as it illuminates the tinted yellow glass, letting sunlight come forth.

In the middle of the hall is a series of floating statues, depicting a variety of figures, ranging from seraphim and angels that play among them to a knight atop the white stallion. Near the ceiling is a varied collection of magically enclosed items encased in magical bubbles, and are often the souvenirs Gloris brings back from her visits. On occasion, she displays her rewards and accomplishments like a museum.
