spikes was part of one of the last test-tube generations bred in a compromised ship. she considers the federation to be her home. ever since she was a child she's put a lot of energy into her studies, now branching out into research of her own. her and ixion's relationship isn't very long but they've become really close in the time they've spent together. they aren't friends, per se, but they trust each other's judgement and moral compass over anyone elses. the only person she would consider a friend is riker, ixion's son, but their relationship is strained.
