Lián Hé ()
dbx2ido-1f4d24d5-7679-4bc2-b64c-11f5a6f6Or simply Liánhé / Genderless, masculine referral dbvwp9d-e4ab7f29-b00f-4b8b-af34-f557bc3c

Some sort of being that lives between the barrier of the living world and the spirit world, Liánhé guides the dead through the river to return to the afterlife, acting like a gatekeeper of sorts. While already kooky in the first place, this task is inherently demanding on his body, resulting in odd stationery poses and gibberish outbursts as he tries to carefully balance between both worlds, since collapsing to either worlds would mean disaster for the passing spirits. He can usually be found near streams and rivers, where a lotus or water lily is present. For those who regard him as a deity, it is tradition to place such flower next to the deceased so that Liánhé can guide them to the afterlife.

If you report lots of paranormal activity, it means Liánhé has fallen to either world (and working quite hard to get himself inbetween it again), and the ghosts are bored because they're waiting for him to let them pass through to the other world.

Trivia:
- His name literally means "lotus river". Due to different spellings, his name may be mistaken with another spelling of lián濂 (waterfall); and/or the spellings of : 和 (peace), or 荷 (lotus or water lily). One might even spell his name "莲荷", which is just different words for lotus. Since "荷" is usually feminine, "莲荷" is therefore interpreted as the spirit's gender, i.e. both masculine and feminine. "荷" also mean "load", so one could call him "lotus load", which is funny.
- Has something similar to a flat affect while trying to balance between both worlds, but instead of emotional monotony, he's stuck grinning.
- One might consider him a shaman since he can communicate with the spirit world, but as he's not associated with the earth's natural resources/gems, he is not one.
- Loves raw fish. That in itself is fine, but the way he eats it is pretty disgusting.
