Destrie Iver
❝I'll only be there if it's fun!❞
- boy/25/leo -

✦ Date of Birth ✦
July 25th

✦ Ethnicity ✦
Argentine-American

✦ Orientation ✦
aromantic, homosexual

✦ Pronouns ✦
he/him

✦ Occupation ✦
exotic dancer

✦ Appearance ✦
❝What has untamable gray hair, a gem in the middle of its forehead, and a flair for the dramatic? THIS THING.❞
Being a carbuncle, Destrie sports downy heather ears and a windy tail that will more often than not be curled around your arm. Either that or tripping you. Perched and centered just above his eyebrows is a smooth, rounded gem that flaunts the same pearl hue as his eyes and fingernails. When distraught, Destrie's gem will emit a light piercing enough to temporarily blind anyone unfortunate enough to look into it.
Destrie may not be tall to begin with, his lissome build reaching only 5'5, but he shrinks to an even shorter twelve inches when he transforms into his typical carbuncle form. As a pure carbuncle, he has sharp claws that are excellent for climbing up people and gripping onto them, and his body, being flexible, allows for him to curl up in small, cozy spaces. He doesn't have a preference between his bipedal form and his carbuncle form and will phase between them both several times throughout the day.

✦ Personality ✦
❝fanciful, kissy-huggy, companionable, spirited
 sassy, prissy, unemphatic, fast-paced.

Des likes affordable luxuries and selective company. He leans towards laziness and enjoys being pampered. Often he seems semi-detached and easygoing, but he has fairly good judgement all things considered. He keeps to a general code of conduct, but has poor self-discipline when it comes to goals he's set for himself. He lacks self-motivation and relies on other people's encouragement to get things done, so he'll ask a lot of redundant questions or questions he already knows the answer to just to hear someone else say what he's thinking and reassure him.
He's pretty good in social settings, but he's more playful than conversational. If he doesn't want to talk, he will deploy his evasive mechanism; acting distracted. Being fast-paced, Des will tire quickly of any conversation that he finds irrelevant. He also doesn't like being treated as someone's "therapist" and, unless necessary, will trade out heavy topics for lighter, less intellectual ones.

✦ History ✦
Growing up, Des had the benefits of being both the youngest sibling and being an only child. Although he had two siblings, they were significantly older and had both left home while Des was still young.
Wanting to keep their youngest child from loneliness, Des' parents spoiled him and provided him with many opportunities. But his life wasn't entirely defined by ease. His parents had high expectations for his academic life. Burdened and troubled by these expectations, Des began to detest his parents. Even if they did spoil him, they were also his main source of stress, and he despised them for it.
Even before Des was a junior in high-school, his parents began to talk of college. They had stored away a large sum of money so they could sufficiently fund the first two years of his education entirely. They also had an emergency store so they could continue to financially support him beyond two years if need be.
However, Des was still resentful of his parents for pressuring him in high-school. Driven by this resentment, he withdrew his college savings and left home without a word to his parents.

✦ Ongoing Story ✦
Des spent the next few years of his life making extravagant and careless purchases. He secured a lavish suite, invested copiously into decorating, and threw many parties with superficial friends. His lifestyle quickly outgrew his savings, and before long, Des found himself not only downgrading to a humble apartment, but pawning his possessions to try to earn back even a portion of what he had lost. He also scavenged for jobs, but because he had no work experience he was often turned away. Finally he settled for a job as an exotic dancer in a notoriously shady, but well-paying, club. He learned the trade quickly in order to earn employment at a club of higher repute.
Des continues to work as a stripper, and though he lives comfortably, he aspires to earn and have more.
