Symphanie Cadenza

Symphanie's parents, originally part of a traditional Viera clan, fled when the Garlean Empire began to invade Othard under Solus zos Galvus. A difficult decision, since Symphanie was already growing in her mother's belly at the time. The stress of travel led to complications with the pregnancy, but thanks to her parents' knowledge of herbal medicine and the healing prowess of the residents of the Black Shroud which they fled to, Symphanie was born a strong and healthy child and her mother soon recovered from the birth.

Symphanie had a fairly isolated childhood, as her parents chose to settle in a hut deep within the Shroud, but they never discouraged her adventurous nature and she soon found herself interacting with other denizens of the forest, the majority of which were only too happy to speak with a Viera child, a rare enough thing to see in their homeland, let alone deep in the Shroud. It wasn't long until she found herself in Gridania, and visited enough to become a familiar face to many of the citizens there.

She always had a talent for magic, and though not inclined to join the guild at a young age, she picked up some basic conjury early on, and was always eager to discover new uses for it while helping her parents with the practical tasks of living nigh self-sufficiently in the wild.

Growing up this way, she grew into young adulthood as a friendly but somewhat awkward person, always eager to connect with strangers but not always proficient in doing so. Still, once people get a glimpse behind her quiet and seemingly stoic exterior, her awkwardness often becomes charming next to her genuineness and generosity.
