Born to Derek, Valda was one of many many children. Unlike her siblings her mother only had her and then disappeared without a word when Valda was only three. She never knew her mother and when she had tried to ask she was told to forget her and just as she was told to, she did.

Growing up she was one of the lower favored children and was simply put to training, usually with other lackeys to her father instead of her own siblings. This gave her a dark heart over time. Trying as a child to gain favor with her father and family she was never successful. Her eldist brother, that she knew of, was always favored over the other kids and things only got worse when Destiny was born.

Valda was twelve when she finally gave up in her battle for her fathers attention. She would just do as she's told, be where she was told to be, learn what she was told to learn, and only spoke when told to. Acting more as a fellow lackey then a member of the main family she tells herself she's content with this life, but when she's alone her mind won't stop racing over how things could be different; just adding to the bitterness in her heart.
