Story

Jovial is the middle child out of three siblings. Has one older brother named Reverie and has a younger sibling named Chlorine. The three of them used to be so close. They all had pretty shitty parents, as they only gave them nothing but neglect. Reverie took it upon himself to take care of his younger siblings. Jovial tries to make his older brother's life easier by helping out in any way he can.

As years go by, their parents seemingly get worse and worse. Almost baiting them into a false sense of security that they've changed but in fact were actually planning to get rid of them once and for all. Reverie saw past their lies, and always stepped in whenever Jovial and Chlorine were asked by them. Eventually, Jovial sees past their lies as well.

Unfortunatley his younger sibling, Chlorine didn't.

Getting sent out to run an errand when Jovial was asleep and Reverie was busy, and not checking the time. Getting locked out at curfew and eventually getting killed by something outside. Presumably by the sweepers.

When Jovial wakes up, it's by the sounds of Reverie sobbing uncontrollably and loudly. Giving his brother comfort and asking him what's wrong. Once finding out, he became a sobbing mess too. And his fears of dying get much worse.

As days pass by, Jovial sees Reverie getting worse and worse. As his older brother kept on getting into screaming matches with their parents keeping him awake at night. Reverie became insanely overprotective over Jovial. Restricting the things that he can do, like going out by himself, What he eats, etc. Becoming more and more paranoid to the point where it's scaring Jovial but he doesn't say anything about it as he was afraid to lose Reverie as well. Unconsciously clinging onto him and giving into his demands.

One day, Jovial wakes up after hearing a bunch of screaming and loud thuds, getting interrupted by a deathly silence. Jovial gets worried about his brother, if he gets hurt or anything. Quietly rushing over to the living room, only to stop horrified at the door way.

Jovial gets traumatized seeing Reverie just covered in blood, standing menacingly over two brutally beaten up bloody bodies that were barely unrecognizable. Breathing heavily before kicking the bodies off to the side, before looking at Jovial direction. Jovial expected Reverie to defend himself. But nothing came. Jovial was desperately trying to cling onto the idea that his older brother didn't just murdered their parents.

All he was greeted was a wide grin plastered over his brother's face. It made him throw up thinking that Reverie is capable of smiling after just brutally murdering their parents. Jovial felt like he was staring death straight in the eyes. Reverie attempted to comfort a silent crying and scared jovial while giggling happily as if he did something good. Jovial looking down and seeing the blood getting smeared on himself too.

Jovial gets even more afraid of Reverie to the point of him running away. Leaving Reverie in the middle of the night when he was out doing Fixer work. As much as he loved his brother, he was afraid he would end up the same after knowing what Reverie was capable of. Jovial wasn't good at dealing with danger anyways.

CITY LIFE

Jovial began to do various other odd jobs to get by (He didn't become an official fixer as that would probably increase the chances of running into his brother). He saved up enough to help him hide his true identity fully. Such as his cube head! (It can come on and off but no one really knows that it could. He never took it off in public spaces and only does so when he knows he's TRULY alone. People just see him as another person who has gone through a head replacement. He doesn't mind..in fact, he WANTS people to think that.) In order to breathe easier while having his head on, his neck had to undergo changes in order to have his custom head fit. He also went through top surgery as could afford it now as he didn't before (yay :D)

As for where Jovial got his famous hat, he found his hat from a friend. His friend, Eidolon, more specifically. Someone who he had met and became affiliated with while exploring the city. He stays at Eidolon's hotel for a place to stay sometimes, unaware of the infamous rumors swirling around the hotel (Consisting of guests missing within the hotel, or sightings of monsters) While Jovial spent another night at Eidolon's hotel, Getting lost within it, soon to be one of the various monsters/distortions within its walls, that is until he found this hat lying on the ground. If he does die wandering here, he might as well have some style (Or at least until he finds the original owner). Before sticking his hand inside it. Shockingly, he gets eaten up by the hat like a magic trick. Sending him to this...weird blank white world where the only things there are various objects/statues. Him touching one of them, making him blank out and no clip right through the object back into the city. But..In a different part of the city.

Jovial finds this hat pretty neat and loves it! When he comes back to Eidolon's hotel, Eidolon himself is surprised that Jovial made it out (Eidolon was sure that Jovial would end up like the others). And even more so when he begs to keep the hat. Eidolon is hesitant because well...The hat itself is sort of like a weird portal that even he knows that the original owner of the hat was never seen again after putting it on. But let Jovial keep the hat as a souvenir and for more..research onto Jovial and his abilities.

Jovial loves his freedom very much. Going out to see the city and visit everything is almost like a dream come true. Afterall, he had been living in the backstreets when he was growing up, and just seeing the nests, more districts, and various other unique people just makes him even more curious about what else is there in the city. Aside from all the death, murder, and other horrible things that people have done to each other.

Over the years, Jovial began to suppress and forget the memories of his past. To the point where he can't even seem to remember who some significant people in his life are anymore. Like Reverie and Chlorine. Them just being blurry figures in his past that seemed so important to him.

When Jovial sleeps, he keeps getting these nightmares. A distorted unknown yet at the same time familiar voice calling out to hin. The same voices overlapping each other are telling him to come back home which overwhelms him. When he wakes up, he's scared and breathing heavily. Maybe even sobbing but he doesn't know why.

NOW [Log of events]

Jovial, now, is mainly a wandering salesman who just sells things that are in his hat. He sells his random wares to anyone he crosses. No one is sure where the money goes after he sells his items as he isn't a big spender at all. He uses the money to try and help those who need it mostly.

Jovial has such a wide range of friends all over the city. Ranging from random fixers, to even distortions and arbiters. He is known not to discriminate against anyone and just treats everyone the same. Jovial doesn't care who you are, he knows that he can't be picky with who he meets in the city. Despite having many friends, most of them don't know much about his past or where he came from.

Jovial is even a popular partner/sponsor to Limbus Company, as he sells his wares often to the company's wide range of branches. Even forming friendships along the way with its employees. He finds everyone within that company interesting as they come from all over the city and having different backgrounds.

It's been unknown to him for some time now, but he is being hunted down by a syndicate called "The Mirror Office". A rumored infamous syndicate who poses as an "Office" full of distortions. He was very unaware of their presence until they made themselves known to him. Especially when the same person in his "dreams" claims to know who he is, and acts as his "friend". Jovial is uneasy about this person as they know a LOT of information about him. Even information he thought he forgot. Over time, this mysterious person dressed in yellow began unlocking more and more forgotten memories of his. He was highly suspicious of the person's identity at this point and was dying to know who they really are. All he was told was to "Find the Mirror""

He didn't know what the hell that meant until he quite literally stumbled into it after running after a trio of people stealing his hat. He crashed right onto the floor after going through the mirror, only to be met with a dark room and the three individuals who stole his hat in front of him. The three of them were surprisingly VERY hospitable to him, treating him as if he were a precious object. Tired from all the running he had to do, he didn't care who they all were, he just wanted his hat back. Jovial was getting irritated at them until they were interrupted by a big presence entering the room. To his surprise, it was the famous color, "The Golden Shard '' alive and breathing in front of him. Which confused him since he thought the guy died during the pianist incident.

He realizes that it was The Golden Shard who was appearing and talking to him in his dreams, which brought him even more confusion as he never met him in his entire life. As interesting as that situation was and why the hell the Golden Shard was still alive, there was something so off putting about him and his office which makes Jovial more cautious and paranoid than ever before.

The bomb drops on when Jovial finally realizes and remembers who the Golden Shard was. Reverie. As all his fear and memories come back, flooding his head painfully, Reverie takes this opportunity to try and capture and trap Jovial here so he may never leave his side again. Jovial tries to deny that he has gotten the wrong person, but it was already too late for that. All jovial could do is defend his head and struggled against the 4 members who were trying to take off his cube head.

After the big struggle, he manages to get his hat back but his cube head crumbled to pieces (Time like these...he was sure if he didn't have the cube head protecting him then his skull would probably be smashed in by now) Him covering his face desperately to hide what he looks like now. He was crying and begging to be let go. Reverie trying to comfort him that he should just come back into his arms and he would be "safe again"

He refuses to show them his face, as he forcibly shoves his whole head in the void of his hat and soon the rest of his body as a means of escape. By his extreme distress about the whole situation, The hat in the outside world (In the mirror office) imploded on itself, causing it to disappear and the Mirror Office losing Jovial, again.

No one has seen Jovial since. Though a man who sounded similar and had the same body structure as him appeared near one of the Limbus Company facilities.
