basil always prioritizes happiness and comfort for himself and others. he sees no need to spend time and energy on things that will not be helpful or productive, so you probably shouldnt go to him for advice unless youre trying to loosen up on things. he's lived the stressed and busy life and he never wants to go back to that.

his current life and mindset is so different from his past that sometimes he thinks he died and his reality is actually the afterlife. this makes him even more apathetic to any possible concerns or struggles and can endanger him sometimes. usually he recovers from these episodes pretty quickly, but other times it takes a day or two before he can even try to get back on track.

he's usually fine though. brain just checks out sometimes
