Psychics demons, although sprase in numbers, carry a great amount of potential. Due to this, they are taken and trained from a young age to foster new skills and growth. For this young girl, the strength of her powers overtook her as a young child and lead to numerous outbursts of tears and pain that wrecked and ruined her mind and body. She knew not what to do, but neither did her parents. They had wished only for a simple life, and this child was not befitting of the life they wished to live. They ultimately lead her to the forest of names, an everstretching growth of woods in which individuals would lose their memories and names as they wandered to find their way out. They left her there while she slept and as she tried to find them again, she fought against her pain until she lost the last fragment of her memory. This temporary lapse gave her a single moment of peace where her body succumb to exhaustion.

When she had awoken, she saw a little creature, scratched and beaten, resting by her side neath the tumtum tree. It seemed to take comfort in her presence, but as it awoken, her powers had also spiked once again- bringing her to her knees. At last, she was sure she would die, that is, until the creature began to chew on... something. It chomped, and chortled, and bit over and over again and be as it may, her mind felt relief.

Though she could not comprehend what it was doing at the time, she understood that being around the little creature provided her some sense of comfort. Likewise, the creature greatly enjoyed being with her. It had understood that she was safe, and after what it pain it was in, it valued this safety.

Meru, that the name that came to her as she finally found her way out of the forest and into a clearing. What memories she had before no longer haunted her mind, but she and the little creature that followed her much like a human's puppy decided that all they could is to continue living regardless of what pain was left behind in the forest. They stumbled on what appeared to be a home, abandoned, worn and dirty, but something that they could use as their shelter.

The Jabberwocky

A "hat" which bears sharp teeth. In truth, this hat is a demon who takes residence upon her head. He is a runt of an overarching species referred to as jabberwocks, which are violent and ruthless cretures that are often hunted and slain due to the threat they pose to others. This particular creature had been chased off into the forest of names by a number of village people where he lost his memories and wandered up to young Meru resting by herself. Since then, the two of them very quickly formed a close and reliant relationship where she cares for him and keeps him warm, and in exchange he eats what he sees as tangible forms of thought to help her maintain her body from being destroyed by her psychic powers.

Bebe

A doll mirroring her likeness. A small, and ragged vessel that had crawled herself out of the forest of lost names into Meru's home, which had then become her permanent abode after the demon tailored and cleaned the doll back to perfection. Bebe. That was the name that the two of them had decided upon. From then on, the young doll became inseparable from her owner, and finds the most comfort when nestled in her hands. In turn, she helps to express the emotions that Meru struggles to show, which Meru then takes on through her skill of emotional pilfering. Although, usually well-behaved and very sweet when next to Meru, when she is separated she becomes a bit of a menace, acting on impulse and enjoys messing with other people.
