Marcus's Links
To say Marcus is fond of Gwyn would be putting it lightly. He is aware she perhaps does not share this feeling, but he finds a great deal of comfort in her company and takes a great deal of pride on making her smile. She’s an attentive listener, always eager to learn more about how the world has changed, and in turn he is always willing to listen to her. He… pities her, unable to truly understand how horrible it must feel to watch the world turn past you, unable to escape your confines, or…
…and he knows she’s been hurt. He doesn’t know how, for she always cuts herself off, but he knows that he brings her at least some level of comfort just by listening and talking, and every day he sees her come out her shell a little more. So, he’ll keep on listening, soaking in her smile and her warmth and her radiance.
He’ll keep on listening, even when there’s nothing new to say.
Gwyn.. tolerates Marcus. Perhaps that's a little harsh, but Gwyn has been hurt before, and despite how sweet, and how kind he is, that's exactly what she hates about him.
She always finds herself spilling her secrets to him even though she doesn't want to, and she finds herself smiling and laughing, and learning about how the world has changed when he's around and she hates every second of it.
She hates that he's a good person, and she hates that he cares.
She hates that if anything were to happen to him outside of her prison, she wouldn't be able to help him.
Because in the end, she's a powerful demon, but she's helpless to save those she cares about.
