Selkie

• She can be drawn as a seal, canine, or human! She can shift between these forms, though being a human is very rare. 
• She is very protective of her selkie skin. 

Selkie is softspoken and gentle, and endlessly kind. She is skittish and easily intimidated, and often shrinks away from conflict or disagreement. She doesn't like to be the center of attention or feel put on the spot. She's very insecure and it takes a lot of work to encourage her to trust you and open up. She rarely feels safe outside of a small handful of situations and getting her to truly relax can be a length process.

She does however, have a huge heart behind her shell, and will never hesitate to help someone in need to any extent that she can. While she is willing to help others, she does have a hard time accepting help because of her reserved nature. She tends to vanish into the shadows quickly when feeling uncomfortable or flee to the waves as soon as you turn your back.

She is most comfortable in the water, and when playing in the waves she'll happily share a smile with others. She also loves her partner's research boat.

She is easily startled, and doesn't really enjoy surprises. She tends to be slow to forgive, even if she will still show kindness to those she's unhappy with. 

Selkie is, as her name would imply- a selkie. She's a very curious, but skittish girl who adores the sea and has a bad tendency to stick her nose in anything new and interesting. She can be easily intimidated by others, and it takes a lot of patience and a soft hand to earn her trust. She's terrified of losing her selkie skin, and of going too far from the sea. 

She ends up meeting and falling in love with the captain of a research ship studying the ocean near her home. Unfortunately, soon after they meet, Selkie's biggest nightmare comes true and she loses her selkie skin. Trying desperately to search for it she is left distraught and depressed as her mate sets out on a journey on her boat to recover it from the ocean currents that stole it away, while Selkie struggles with the terrible fear the ocean has rejected her and taken away her identity.
