Heritage: Born (idk yet) and then raised in Cloudsdale! She got her heterochromia trait from her mother's side. Her mother is a pegasus and her father is an earth pony.
Personality:
Sortie is a tomboy. She is often mistaken for a guy due to her voice kind of being low and her attitude. But she's just a spunky girl. She's not super talkative or a boaster, and she loves to pig out on milkshakes and fries. Sortie loves to watch sky sports and participate in them, and likes use words like 'amazeballs' to describe awesome stuff. She's a bit loud when she talks, but she's very collected. Her positive and good sport attitude makes her a fun mare to compete and play games with.

She's kind of carefree but also very grounded, and trusts her friends completely. Though due to her past she suffers abandonment issues. She secretly dreads graduating college, because she fears she will never see any of the wonderful friends she's met there ever again. Therefore Sortie often avoids talk of 'the future' and gets emotional when ponies talk about leaving.

Backstory:
Sortie comes from a broken home. Something you wouldn't notice about her at first glance. Her mother and father married when they realized her mother was pregnant with Sortie. At first the family of three was happy, but Sortie's father was became distant after his wife became pregnant with their second foal. Shortly after the birth of Sortie's brother, the her parents got a divorce. Her mother took Sortie and her brother, who was also a pegasus, to her hometown of Cloudsdale. For a few years Sortie did not hear from her father, but soon her father would visit them from time to time. As she and her brother grew older, her father's visits became more frequent. He expressed regret towards Sortie, asking her to forgive him for leaving and to understand that he needed to find himself. But Sortie has never been able to forgive her father. She does not trust her father and is very protective of her brother whenever he is around. 

Now that Sortie is a young adult, the anger she has for her father is starting to fade. But she has still not forgiven him. 

Now, onto other parts of her background. Sortie's mother was often working late and very hard so she could provide for Sortie and her brother. Sortie was often left taking care of her brother, which Sortie didn't mind at all. Her grades tended to suffer a bit because of this, but she was able to graduate from high school and get into college. Thankfully during her senior year her mother was promoted to a killer position that raised the household income to a comfortable level, while also cutting back her hours to allow for her mother to spend more time with Sortie and her brother. 

Years earlier, when she was a foal, Sortie discovered her special talent during her first flying lesson. She had always wanted to join aerodynamic sports in school but she never had the extra time between schoolwork and caring for her brother. So in her senior year when she finally got more time to do whatever she wanted, she joined the Aero-Gymnastics team at her school. She spent the whole year learning amazing tricks and conditioning herself. She participated in school contests and flight pageants, coming out in the top ranks by the time her school year was up. Finally Sortie had realized what she wanted to do with her future, and had the motivation to work for it.

She applied to Cloudsdale's Aerodynamic Flight College and got in with a scholarship. There she met her best friend and roommate Cloud Swirl and all of her other friends. She found a place where she belonged and she thrives in the environment.
