Julianna is a traveling black market, irl chainstore-themed saleswoman that re-appears throughout all of my TTRPG campaigns! She gained her current appearance after multiple failed experiments and lives on via unknown means.

She is a goofy but shrewd businesswoman and is willing to cut a deal for friends and acquaintances, especially if her discounts keep them coming back to her shop.

Campaign Appearances

Calliope

Game: D&D
Theme: Costco
Julianna inherited the Fantasy Costco from Garfield the Deals Warlock several decades after the events of The Adventure Zone. She pedals items from the canon Fantasy Costco list.

Amestrius

Games: Blades in the Dark, D&D
Theme: Taco Bell
Julianna barters in information and illicit weapons at the base of the old bell (Tall Cold Bell) on the Boreal Shore, located at the northernmost point of the King's City. The undead are taboo in the City, so she carefully hides the zombified parts of her body.

Verdonia

Game: Fistful of Darkness
Theme: Walmart/Target
Julianna's saleswagon is pulled by undead horses whose bones clatter like candy in a pinata as they walk. To create the illusion of competition, the opposing sides of her wagon are labeled "Stalmart" (Walmart) and "Bullesye" (Target). While conducting business, she wears a veil, but in the wild west of Verdonia - where the weird and supernatural are slowly becoming the norm - a capitalist necromancer is probably the last thing people should be concerned about.

Trivia & Design Notes

63393370_q1yIHpgAXJtP3X5.png?1696299233
  • She is somehow related to Garfield the Deals Warlock from the Adventure Zone and speaks with a similar inflection.
  • Her body is ice cold to the touch.
  • Her Hat of Vermin is always bat-themed, but it takes a different appearance in each campaign.
  • Her zombified body parts may occasionally be swapped out for non-human parts (such as elf ears as shown here), as long as the changes are subtle (i.e. no tabaxi paws, tiefling tails, or aarakocra wings). A small patch of scales or short claws are okay! The body parts must be biologically humanoid and blue.
  • The placement of the individual stitches on her reference do not have to be followed exactly, and some alterations to her outfit are fine.

Relationships

Amari Unrequited Affection

During a series of battles in Calliope, Julianna supplied Amari with less than legal weapons and the odd favor or two. Amari attempted to romance Julianna after the dust settled. It is uncertain if Julianna noticed her flirtation or simply chose to ignore it.

Folstina Unlikely Allies

When a coup was staged against Folstina just a week before her crowning ceremony by a mysterious, ancient warlock, Julianna provided the future duchess shelter and equipment to take back Calliope. How can one turn down the opportunity of having a duchess in your debt?

Zachary The Golden-Eyed Siblings

During her travels across multiple continents, Julianna has encountered four of Zachary's half-siblings (Amari being one of them), although she keeps this information to herself. After all, it's best not to get entangled in the family business of others.
