About

You want to know how I became a Harbinger? Heh. No you don't.

Brighella wasn't always known as Brighella, The Trickster. They were once known as Alias, a very loud child who always seemed to get themself into trouble. When their parent got into debt with the Fatui, Alias was practically sold off to the Fatui by their parents. After a few years of serving in the Fatui, while out on a recon mission, Alias fell into the Abyss. They were fighting for their life for an excruciating year and a half, witnessing unspeakable horrors on a daily basis before finally making it out- only to learn they were supposedly only gone for a week and a half.

That entire experience changed them. They were distant before, sure, but after the Abyss… they were nothing short of heartless. Alias continued working their way up the ranks, eventually being noticed by The Tsaritsa herself. Alias was named “Brighella” and took up the sixth seat of the Harbingers. They now serve her, enacting on her behalf to one day overthrow the Heavenly Principles.

Appearance

Not many know what Brighella looks like- and those who do can't put a name to the face. They have short hair with a tuft on the right side, and a gem on the left- a gift from the Tsaritsa herself.

They wear an outfit that does not fit the cold climate of Snehznaya. A shoulder pad on their right shoulder keeps their fiery-red cape attached, and on their left shoulder hangs the Fatui mask they've been given as a Harbinger.

On their belt lies their vision and a satchel, presumably carrying important supplies. Their shorts are made from a flexibly, lightweight material. Along both their knees are two guards, the same material as their shoulder pad. Their boots are lined with wool, but do not be mistaken- they are combat boots, designed to look unassuming.

  •  Hair  #fef9be

  •  Eye  #679c9a

  •  Skin  #f6ebd6

  •  Color  #bbfef3

Design Notes

  •  Brighella uses the medium male model. They have short blonde hair, speckled with streaks of white from stress.
  •  On the left side of their head lays a gem, gifted to them from the Tsaritsa. They are never seen without it.
  •  Along one ear is a chained earring that clips above and below their ear, adorned with two blue gemstones at the base.
  •  The cape on their right shoulder is tattered from battle.
  •  Their mask is held up with magic, probably.

Trivia

  •  Has constant nightmares of The Abyss, and wakes up with real wounds from the fight.
  •  Has a tendency to injure their knees, so started wearing knee guards to keep it from happening.
  •  Loves shiny objects to a fault- can often be seen eyeing anything that sparkles, no matter how "worthless" it is.
  •  Made their own clothing.
  •  Does not like Mondstadt.

Character Details

Living in shadows, the elusive Brighella is rarely seen, even in their homeland of Snezhnaya. They are a mystery, a shadowy figure that seemed to come and go as they pleased. But one thing is for certain - they are powerful, both in battle and in the political games of the Fatui.

Rumors surround them, and nobody is certain what is true about them- not even the soldiers that serve under them.

Some say they aren't even human.

But nonetheless, they serve the Tsaritsa with an undying loyalty.

Character Story 1

Brighella had to prove themself ever since the very moment they were appointed the sixth seat. They fought for every single bit of respect from their peers who, in turn, had to fight to earn Brighella's respect.

As a Harbinger, they never forgot what it was like being a soldier. In turn, they treat their soldiers with respect- in some cases, perhaps even kindness. But emotions are not their strong suite, and they've been known to cause their soldiers to cry while talking with them. Not because they were intimidating, but because they were correct.

In other words, soldiers always a have Harbinger they want to work under, and it's not usually Brighella.

Character Story 2

One of the many things about Brighella that draws rumors is the time they went missing for just over a week, and returned a different person. Those who knew them beforehand said they didn't even recognize their face- the expression it wore was one that had seen a lifetime's worth of unimaginable horrors.

The truth is, while out on a recon mission, a crack beneath the ground opened and swallowed them whole and sending them to The Abyss. They have not spoken a word of it since- who would have even believed them if they did?

Character Story 3

One day, their parents sent Brighella to the Fatui in exchange for Mora. They were only 13 at the time, and can barely recall their life before.

The Fatui taught them everything they now know- although, they picked up a few skills on their own.

Character Story 4

Brighella was once known by a name since long forgotten- a name since long dead. Long before they were in the Fatui, long before everything, they were a regular Snezhnayan child.

They could often be found climbing trees, listening to conflict from afar, and generally doing all they could to stay out of their broken home life.

Character Story 5

No matter how much they try to ignore it, the Abyss has made a lasting impact on Brighella.

Vision

Brighella obtained their vision during a fight against the Abyss Order while all the rest of their comrades had collapsed. Brighella was the last one still fighting, and was prepared to die in order for their comrades to get to safety. Amidst the fight, they were granted a Vision, and were able to successfully eradicate the monsters.

Since then, they've tried not to rely on its magic too much. Both because they are not skilled in magic, and because it reminds them of their Shuddering Void form.

Hello

Hello, Traveler. I am Brighella, the 6th of the Fatui Harbingers. I live to serve Her Majesty, The Tsaritsa. Hm? Am I going to kill you? Unless you give me a good reason to do so, no.

Chat: Snezhnaya

Back home, people would freeze without proper attire. Me? I live and breathe the cold. It need not bother me.

Chat: Exhaustion

I understand you get exhausted easily, but we've been standing here for an excessive amount of time.

Chat: Idleness

We should keep moving. I'm going to go on without you if you continue loafing around.

When It Rains

Rain. A rare sight to see back home.

When Thunder Strikes

Ack! No, I was not startled.

When It Snows

Snow... reminds me of home.

Good Morning

I see you've finally awoken. Did you sleep well?

Good Night

You think I should get some sleep? I'd much rather not...

About The Vision

My Vision was given to me when I had just started out in the Fatui. I was able to use it to save the lives of myself and my comrades

Something to Share

The Harbingers aren't as menacing as you'd think. Most of the time, they squabble like annoyed siblings.

Interesting Things

My kneepads? Oh, no, those aren't for battle. I tend to hit my knees alot and got sick of injuring them one day.

About Being A Harbingers

You want to know how I ended up as a Harbinger? Heh. No you don’t.

About Pierro

Don’t be fooled by his title. He’s no clown. He knows exactly what he’s doing. That’s all I can say.

About Il Dottore

The Doctor? Hm… I’d advise you stay away from him. He doesn’t like those who meddle with his... work.

About Columbina

Do not take her appearance at face value- she’s no damsel in distress. If you ever have to take her on, don’t underestimate her. That’s exactly what she wants.

About Il Capitano

The guy’s strong, I’ll give him that. But not strong enough to hold up his own ego.

About About Pulcinella

Ever the manipulator. There are few he either doesn’t have blackmail on, or doesn’t have some form of control over. Hm? What does he know about me? Heh. Wouldn’t you like to know.

About Sandrone

Always frustrated by her own failings in research. With nowhere for that anger to go, she takes it out on her colleagues. I’ve been subject to her pitiful wrath on occasion. If I was any less patient, she would not still be alive.

About La Signora

I have no pity for her. She made enemies just for the sake of it. Always was the type to pick fights. What she did was rash, and she deserved the consequences.

About Pantalone

All he thinks about is business and money. I’m not even sure he serves our cause. He may just be here for the Mora.

About Arlecchino

I admire her work in Fontaine, but emotions have no place in the Fatui. I don’t understand how she’s gotten this far while relying on something so hollow. At the very least, she speaks her mind.

About Tartaglia

One of the few Harbingers I can stand. He doesn’t seem to be manipulating his underlings, he’s just a good person. He seems… out of place. I wonder how someone like him ended up in the Fatui, let alone as a Harbinger.

About Zhongli

He’s quite the interesting character. I’m not sure what his deal is, but he doesn’t seem to be intent on causing any trouble. So, it’s not worth my effort to find out.

About Xiao

The short yakasha? He tried to kill me once.

The Fatui's Goals

Her Majesty seeks to shape this world into one where humans decide their own fates. This has been her goal ever since The Cataclysm.

About Khaenri’ah

Khaenri’ah was a place hidden away from the gods for any humans who seeked shelter. One alchemist who thought she knew everything ended up destroying part of Khaenri'ah because of her folly. Corrupted monsters spewed from Khaenri'ah to Teyvat.

About The Cataclysm

The Heavenly Principles found out about Khaenri'ah, and was not pleased. They cursed all of its residents, forgetting the majority simply sought refuge and meant no harm.

About The Abyss

The Cataclysm led to the creation of The Abyss, a place filled with monsters, darkness, and endless horrors. The Abyss Order seeks to destroy Celestia and Teyvat, leaving nothing left in its wake.

About Abyssal Energy

I don’t know everything about it, but I know it’s both powerful and dangerous. It corrupts anything it touches, unless one is smart enough to twist it for their own purpose.

Birthday

Happy birthday, traveler. If anyone if giving you trouble today, let me know. Everyone should have a good day on their birthday, even you.

Feelings About Ascension: Intro

Feelings about Ascension: Building Up

My skills become even sharper.
