Public Backstory -

The life of Hanh Tang, from the moment he was born, had always been publicized. Born into an already prolific family, the founders of a long-standing intercontinental agency, Hanh had been established as the family’s beloved heir long before he even started school. As he grew, however, Hanh started to display the talent equal to that of a prodigy— So quickly, even at age nine, becoming a boy genius on the topic of Criminology. His research was unmatched, yet his talent did not stop there. Hanh continued to dip his toes into the investigation and forensic science scenes. Within a year, at age ten, it was already assumed that the boy would reach past the stars. Rumors of snagging an Ultimate title already began to form, proven true when the heir was nominated. All Hanh needed to do was graduate into high school.

Despite all that, just two years later, Hanh was in a terrible accident. His exponential rise in status was halted as he was hidden from the press for an entire year. The specifics were never publicized, the family given privacy in their grief, but the boy was widely regarded as never being quite the same. Not necessarily in a bad way, of course, but simply in the way that he became quite the. . . Interesting character. A reserved and studious boy emerged with a newfound excitement for life, sparked by his brush with death. Even the close friends of Hanh before the accident remarked that it was like he’d awoken from some sort of veil.

Hanh went on to obtain that long-awaited Ultimate title in his high school years. The newly crowned Ultimate Criminologist, covering many different layers of criminalistics and criminology alike. The question during his recovery had been whether or not he would still qualify for the Ultimate, and clearly the answer was yes. Hanh, ever talented, was able to spend the last three years of his life pursuing the study of deviant behavior and single handedly solving many cases that had gone cold. He even found love in an anonymous significant other, though their identity was never revealed. His story, however, did not have a happy ending. The poor boy’s life ended abruptly in his sixteenth year, April First, murdered in cold blood by an unknown assailant at his very own birthday celebration. With the offender first assumed to be the Ultimate Business Advisor, his death sparked much controversy within the Ultimate society. Who could have done it, and why target him? Yet the crime was left unanswered, the irony of the boy’s death dismally morbid. Since then activity within the agency has slowed. A watchful eye remains on all the guests who had been present that day, especially that of the Ultimate Business Advisor.

Public Personality -
Hanh Tang was often regarded as the peculiar eccentric son to the widely renowned Tang family, going so far as to publicly announce himself a nickname: Kitsy. A presence widely known within the true crime and criminology communities, his public behavior displayed no sort of dignified thought and yet he solved the most difficult cases. It was generally assumed that this frivolous individual had a front of a relatively unassuming young boy while being a dangerously intelligent detective behind the scenes. A sort of work by night, party by day way of life. For all of his loud personality, Hanh was rarely seen out and about on his own— A highly guarded individual, of who few could brag of being close to. Body guards, a management-run media presence, and the job of keeping up the Tang family’s reputation robbed this boy of the simple teenage lifestyle he may have lived.

The shift in personality from his pre to post accident scenes had not been heavily documented up close. Very, very few were close with Hanh before his year long break from the spotlight. It isn’t entirely unknown how his behavior changed, however, as one childhood friend of the boy claimed that he had been far more apathetic in the past. It’s an idea that’s hard to imagine with just how spirited the boy’s personality was in his latter years, difficult to keep under wraps despite the overprotectiveness brought on him by his family.

As one of his few close friends once put it, “He was sort of weird, but you got used to it.”
