Snow Queen
Immortal Ice Being / Any Pronouns
Story

Long ago, there existed a mirror, within which one could only see the worst aspects of the world reflected. Pain, anger, and loss would obscure nearly all that was worth loving about a person or place... but this evil was considered too great, so it was broken, and its pieces were scattered to all corners of the globe.

The Snow Queen was born when a shard of the mirror landed in the icey top of the world, and worked its magic into the snow and ice there. Being formed from this magic, they were powerful, able to freeze anything within their presence and form grand palaces from ice alone. However, they appeared to find no joy or love for their creations, for the shard that made up their heart shrunk such emotions to barely a pinprick in their mind.

Eventually, they became restless in their desert of snow, as well as curious about the fate of the other mirror pieces, and decided to travel the world. Harsh winters followed them. Plantlife withered around them, animals fled from their presence, and people shut their windows and doors tight, cursing the freezing weather. It seemed to them that wherever they stepped foot, others displayed nothing but fear and cruelty, and each place was as unfulfilling to behold as the next.

All this continued for a very long time, until one day the Snow Queen felt the pull of another mirror shard. Following it, they found a young man lost in a blizzard, with the evil glass stuck in his eye. Taking pity upon him for their similar circumstances, the Snow Queen kissed him twice - two spells to alleviate his pain from the shard - and spirited him away to their ice palace at the top of the world. There, they desired to keep him for all eternity, the only other being like themself.

And though they could barely feel it, deep within their heart shard, a different kind of magic began to burn...

Appearance

The Snow Queen is a magic, somewhat fae-like entity entirely made of ice. They are ageless, genderless, and technically nameless, though they passively accept being called by whatever titles people give them.

Their physical presence is imposing, towering above others at over eight feet tall. An ice crown, styled like a kokoshnik atop their head, adds to this height. Their dress covers their entire body from the neck down, with a long, thick cape trailing behind it. Shiny embroidered patterns like snowflakes cover the thick material, and they are adorned with crystalline jewlery. It is unclear if these are materials taken from humans, or if it is all constructed of ice.

What can be seen of their body is long and faceted, and slightly glowing from the inside with magic. They have full lips, a long, broad nose, and piercing eyes. Due to seemingly being unable to feel positive emotions, they most often have a blank expression, though in extreme circumstances they can appear angry or sad. If they were to remove their clothing, you could see the broken mirror shard which makes up their heart, embedded in the ice of their chest.

Post-story, both their outfit and their expressions gain a softer look, and a veil is added to their crown.
