Salt

Salt was an orphaned beastkin until one fateful night when he discovered the corpse of the recently deceased Beaufort Pattivsky. On a whim he decided to use his innate shapeshifting powers to make himself look like Beaufort. the Pattivsky family found him wandering around later that night and assumed that he was the real Beaufort. Salt kept up the façade for 16 years before he the stress of keeping up the act drove him to run away. 

His "parents" were aware that he wasn't their real son, but they could never think of a way to bring up the topic without scaring Salt. They are currently looking for him, but they've had no luck with locating him since he's using his true form now.
