Aarckslann Sorenoak

The basics of the Kendaniyola include being carnivorous, amazing  camouflage skills, including changing the colour of their fur, great  hunting skills, and they live in rainforest canopies such as the  Amazon.

Background: Born and raised in a modern tribal  town setting, Aarckslann is a skilled hunter, efficient scavenger, and  valiant warrior. Having grown up in a forest, he was taught to blend in  with the lush canopies surrounding him, and though this may be  functional where he’s from, his armour can stand out like a bit of a  sore thumb in city settings. Aarckslann is no stranger to the modern  technologies of other civilisations as his tribe is just as developed –  they only use tribal hierarchies and some traditions to have the tribe  title. His blood isn’t noble, but he has the praise of the tribespeople  and so is beheld with honour and glory. Aarckslann abides by a sort of  Honour Code common amongst the tribespeople, and it sometimes means he’s  at a disadvantage when fighting those who may not hold the same  beliefs. He has amazing reflexes as a result of his rigorous and  consistent training though, so he generally catches thieves before they  can take anything from him. His physical fitness needs to stay high in  order for him to function in his tribal society. Aarckslann has always  had a hard time being able to control his Shifter abilities, sometimes  randomly changing between forms when he was younger. Now, he has more  control over this, but sometimes isn’t able to handle very emotionally  stressful situations, despite his somewhat stoic appearance.

Personality: Generally  keeping a straight face, Sorenoak has a slightly more serious attitude  towards things. He sometimes misses jokes because of this and doesn’t  understand when people are poking fun – this can lead to fights because  he’d get offended. He’s very friendly towards people, only seeming  hostile at first, before he’s decided to trust someone. He enjoys  crafting and weapon-making, and does it as a job when in the town. His  armour and weapons were self-made, and he prides himself on those, as  they are his favourite creations. He absolutely loves dual-coloured  items, like a metal with two different shades of silver, or a gold  tipped, black claw in the case of his gryphon form. He’s a very loving  person to his family, and will without a doubt stand up for his friends  should the need arise. He’s respectful to his elders, especially the  chieftain, as long as they have a good reputation and are honourable  (they’re honest, they don’t commit crimes etc.) – he may have  reservations with others. Hate is not a word he knows the meaning of  quite yet – Aarckslann tends to avoid making enemies, though he might  not be able to help it sometimes. He appreciates attention when he gets  it, but doesn’t necessarily enjoy being in the limelight, and he can get  somewhat uncomfortable when children run at him or if he’s surrounded  by people looking at him. Though he has none, Sorenoak would be so  endearing with his wife and children. He would love them  unconditionally, and teach them everything he knows, all while trying  not to spoil them.

Family: With his father having passed  away (of natural causes), Aarckslann absolutely adores his mother,  spoiling her whenever he can. He has such a soft spot for her that she’s  the only one that can call him “Acki”, a nickname he didn’t think  should be popular amongst his friends. His closeness to her rivals that  of any of his siblings, sometimes they jokingly complain that he’s her  favourite. Two brothers and a sister makes a crowded household, so his  mother’s glad they all have their own houses to take care of!  Aarckslann’s brothers are both older than him, though he’s neither the  tallest nor the shortest of the three, and when together, the three of  them can be quite intimidating. He, as a typical older brother, is  protective of his little sister, even though he may help her sneak out  every now and again. All four of the children are tight with each other,  and nothing could get in the way of that. The eldest brother is married  with three children, the second eldest has no children, and his wife  passed away, while the sister is married with two children. His siblings  nickname him “Lann”, and if they tried calling him “Acki”, it would  result in a play fight that was almost always inconclusive. He would  love to have a family, though he hasn’t found the right woman yet, and  he considers leaving the town for a while to see if he’ll meet anyone on  his travels.

Shifter: He’s had many instances when he was  younger where he would randomly lash out in his Kendaniyola form, before  he learned to control his abilities, and as a result he’s hurt several  people. He’s given his mother a scar on her cheek, that if he looks for  too long, he’ll feel so ashamed he’ll become silent. She tries to  comfort him over this, but he can’t help feeling the way he does, even  though he’s never wounded anyone fatally. He’s glad that he learned to  get his abilities mainly under control at a young age – who knows what  kind of damage he could cause as a fully grown adult? He still tends to  only shift forms when he's alone and usually away from society and  civilisation.
