Tsuga [Demon Lord]

A former demon lord that lost his status in the underworld, he was out seeking ways to regain his strength when he fell prey to an ambush attack and ended up nearly dying.  He was rescued by a passing mage and they ended up forming a familiar contract.  Margery was a young spellcaster just starting out her profession and coming across a halfdead demon was not on her to do list that day.  His benefactor became not only a source of power but also more than a friend.  But since Margery did not return his feelings, she tried many different ways to break the contract to avail.  Eventually, she resorted to binding Tsuga's soul inside a spell book and sealing it in her blood.  By doing this, he would sleep until she died and the contract would naturally break over time or a descendant of hers broke it themselves with their own blood, therefore forging a new familiar's contract.  It was a cruel fate...yet the only mercy she could afford him.
