Oliveandri Oyl is the eldest child of the Offera family, owners and proprietors of a local chain of inn & taverns called The Peacemaker. With their reputation being spread far and wide, the humble halflings have become pillars in the community. Oliveandri, as what was dictated by her parents as "tradition" to learn responsibility, was to work at the Peacemaker, for it was her destiny to one day run the inn empire as the heir. 

One unfortunate day, a meeting with a potential new mead supplier went horribly wrong when she was kidnapped by a band of bandits and ransomed back to her family. A group of adventurers came swiftly to her aid, stopping the dastardly criminals from their evil plans and freeing her. She was returned to her home safely, but not without trauma. Her family name made her a target, exploitable the more widespread her name became. She had grown paranoid, fearing they would one day return to finish her off. 

So, as what a lot of white women do when they have had a near death experience such as that, she took up self defense classes. 

But no monastery seemed to fit. There was so much pent up rage, she couldn't reasonably meditate when she wanted to kick ass. Monastery to master, she hopped, trying to learn different techniques. But none taught her better than one drunk who fancied him an expert monk. He taught her in the ways of the Drunken Master, utilizing feigned "helplessness" to undercut her enemy. 

After getting the hang of things, she decided the only way to overcome her fear is to face it. And what better way than to be an adventurer! Not to mention a bit of rebellion against the destiny her family has decided for her.
