NOTHING TO SEE HERE
Gabriel and his best friend Vittoria moved to the King's City many decades ago in hopes of starting a clothier, Timeless Tailors, in an upscale part of the city. However, the devastating King's War ruined their business, drying up their customer base as the militant continent of Amestrius diverted resources toward battling its neighbor, Ranea. He and Vittoria managed to scrape by with a meager tailoring business as the war raged on for 20 years, but they knew their business could not financially recover from the losses after the war.
When Vittoria caught wind of a blooming post-war black market, she and Gabe shifted business tactics. While both are equally capable at sweet-talking customers, Vittoria is talented in the art of disguise, and Gabe has a greater knack for marketing. Gabe took to running Timeless Tailors as an honest high-end boutique by day, then a secretive business for selling Vittoria's illicit knife-and-bullet-proof armor by night.
Vittoria later joined The Night Shift, a group of underground mercenaries. Timeless Tailors became their base of operations, and Gabriel – pleased by their increase in income – dutifully continued to hide the crew's criminal activities. He is a non-combatant member of The Night Shift, but when push comes to shove, he's not bad with a shotgun.

Gabe and Vittoria have known each other for many, many decades. He is one of the few people who knows Vittoria's true appearance and the only one capable of pushing her buttons.
G: "What's the password?"
M: "I didn't know there was one..."
G: "I'm kidding."
Vittoria practically has Mael wrapped around her finger. Gabriel is fully aware of Mael's feelings for Vittoria and takes every opportunity to poke fun at him whenever Mael visits Timeless Tailors for official business.
