Always having been under the belief that all life is precious, Anna has always been a little bit soft-hearted. She is easily affected by sad news, and used to cry quite a bit in her youth. ‘Crybaby’ had been a nickname that she’d taken on as a child.
This is something she grew out of relatively quickly, after her abilities manifested and she began to become affected by other people and their emotions. When she learned that crying generally had a negative impact on others, she promptly learned how to cut herself off whenever she felt sad.
She became a brilliant light in the lives of those who had the chance to get to know her.
This is the kind of person that she is. A very friendly and easy to love type.
She would do and give anything to ensure that those around her are doing alright mentally.
Anna spends perhaps too much time putting herself in the shoes of other people, sometimes she forgets how to walk in her own and has been known to stumble where her own true feelings and emotions come into play.
From a young age, Anna had instilled in her that her most important purpose in life was to help ensure the safety of the Ildedrage family. She learned early on how to put others first, and herself last.
The life of a retainer is one that she’d been born into, as a Niebuhr. The Niebuhr family has always served the Ildedrage’s.
The reasoning for this unshakable loyalty was not shared with Anna, for her parents and elder brother had all died in an accident before she could ever learn about such details.
Despite this, Anna has accepted her duty to the Ildedrage family and does her utmost to serve her purpose as a retainer to the one closest to her in age.
From playmate to sparring partner, Anna grew alongside the boy and came to treasure the relationship that they’d forged through time.
The ability to draw in negative emotion and utilize it in battle is an exceptionally rare one that is exclusive to the Niebuhrs. It is an ability that doesn’t always transfer from parent to child. There have been generations where neither parent attained the ability.
Fortunately, Anna was among the few who managed to inherit the ability.
This, immediately, helped to pave the path for the girl. She was put into training right away for the sake of being of use to the Ildedrage’s as soon as possible.
As powerful an ability as it is, it has a nasty effect on the body.
Niebuhr’s who inherit this ability rarely ever live to exceed the age of 25 as a result of all the internal damage that they take through drawing in so much negative energy.
So, inheritors are encouraged to procreate in an effort to pass on those ‘good genes’.
Afterall, in Jhuderian culture, the most important thing is ones ability to have a valuable standing on the battlefield.
