Nariko

Catching storms to stay alive, 
caught in a storm I won't survive

Nariko is a turbulent dragon. She seeks out and creates storms by upsetting the natural balance of ions and weather pressure. She can shoot fiery plasma that can spontaneously trigger lightning, with thunderstorms following. The thunderstorms charge her ability to use those elements to her will; being away from them for a long time can deplete it.

She may look sturdy, but behind the confident mask of lightning control and thick feathers is actually a fairly light and fragile physique. Even though unavailability to her set of powers is rare, she's reactive and defensive; it's easy to tick her off.

Unlike her elemental power, troubled beings like herself are not created from thin air. A fierce tyrant, with the power and means to get what they desire, is the poison that flows through the forest and its dwellers. Nariko never had the chance to experience life outside of this dictator's grasp. As the tyrants cousin, she is often sent in to handle dirty business. The tyrant has a sharp tongue and wits, and Nariko believes she's doing the right thing for her family. Nariko doesn't know it's not ordinary to live in constant fear and frustration. Isn't this what family does for each other? Isn't she... doing the right thing?

Will someone set her on the right path, or is she doomed a life of foul manipulation and terror?
