Personality
Hanyu is a slayer who is trying to leave his past behind. Growing up poor in the countryside, he had no choice but to do what he had to do in order to survive. Although he’s not a good person, he’s learning to be a decent person through the help of the Himari Tea House and a certain blue-haired scientist.
Being an excellent liar, Hanyu is very good at deceiving people and masking his emotions. He can appear to be very charming and caring even with murderous intentions. He takes pleasure in tormenting others physically (especially those who take advantage of the weak) and mentally while being extremely protective of the few he cares about. This does not mean he completely lacks sympathy though. He is just accustomed to this way of thinking due to his unfortunate situation. Hanyu will always refuse to hurt those who are innocent and weak such as the elder, children, and animals.
Hanyu is unable to rid of his status as a slayer due to the trail of blood he had left behind but thanks to Himari Tea House & co. he’s on his way to recovering and being able to live a normal life. He currently works as an assistant to Liu and takes care of her well-being.

Beloved
His precious silent flower. Hanyu met Liu when he lost control of his powers and was left abandoned by his slayer guild to rampage within the streets. If it weren't for Liu being in the right place at the right time, he wouldn't know if he would even be alive right now. To him, Liu is his savior even though she was simply doing her job. Somehow she is the only one who can keep his powers at bay without losing control. Hanyu adores everything about Liu. He had even picked up sign language to be able to communicate with her.
Like a little sister
Hanyu treats Nonomi like a little sister. Maybe it's because they both came from poor backgrounds but he finds himself caring for her quite a bit. They bond over their love for the sea and sometimes he's allowed to go with her on expeditions with Liu's supervision.
