Tore doesn't really think of himself often, too preoccupied with those around him. If you asked him he'd probably just shrug. Eventually though he does realize he puts a lot of his self worth in how much he can do for the ones he loves sooo

Probably his face scars?? It's hard for that to not be the first thing tbh LOL Other than that tho maybe his nose or piercings. Lots goin on in the face.

STORY SO FAR

Childhood

---

Tore comes from a lower middle class childhood that, while not being able to afford many luxaries, got along well enough. His parents were okay? Not super loving but also not overtly mean. (Neglectful at most) One day, normal as any other, they left the house and never came back, leaving him in the care of his Aunt. (Spiderman Backstory much?)

He grew up learning to help her around her shop. She regularly helped Tauro’s family with their appliances/vehicles whenever they busted for little to no price so the two got to play pretty frequently becoming fast friends into highschool.

Teenhood

Tore's life, much like any teenager, revolved around school, hobbies, and friendships. Especially that of a certain delinquent.

Tauro continued to be a staple in Tore's life, thick as theives. Things seemed perfect, till Tauro started acting suspiciously. Eventually Tore caught on to the gang life his friend was intertwined in. What else was he supposed to think when Tauro showed up to their hangouts bruised to all hell and knowing his family was far too sweet on him for that to be the source. Sure he wouldn’t put it past Tauro to start fights here and there but it was happening way too often.

Tore never brought it to light he knew though, letting Tauro believe his secret was kept. He understood why he was doing it even if it agonized him for his friend to be in such a constant stage of danger. So he just started intervening any way he could. From conveniently being around the corner to interrupt to straight up jumping in front of Tauro to take his hits when he was too late to avoid it. This of course pissed off Tauro royally and he put a stop to it. “You’ve gotta focus on getting into that fancy school and out of this town like your aunt wants you to, not getting the pulp beat out of you!” Tore stubbornly took his advice (To his regret) and focused on studying medicine. In his mind it was his roundabout way to help Tauro and keep him safer in the long run and if he could help others in the process it was a bonus. With the combined effort from his Aunt he graduated and was accepted into medical school. The biggest downside was being far from home for the next 5 years...

Resident Blues

Tore took a joint BS/MD program to be able to get through school as quick as possible. Something he regret immensely after. Most of his time was taken by studies and tests rarely giving him a social life, isolating him even further from the strangers he shared education with. He only had one friend in his roommate his entire degree.

The stress of collage burnout on top of his new residency position, and the one friend he made stabbing him in the back, affects his performance greatly. After a concerning video call with Tauro (the first they'd had in months), it makes him assess where he is in life. Sure he’s in a field that pays well and helps people in the city he's residing but he’s miles away in an empty apartment he can barely afford from the few people he even started this for. Tore gathers all the savings he can and sets a plan into motion. It's probably not a smart idea to leave so soon in his residency but he takes one look around at the miserable lonely life he’s living and says fuck it he’s taking that risk. If the job isn’t there for when (if) he comes back so be it. Tore jumps on his motorcycle, a duffle of his most important objects and races home.

Hostile Hometown

After a tearful reunion with Taruo, and a few lies about vacation days, Tore crashes at his friend's place for a lil while before needing to check in with his Aunt. He'd shamefully not spoken to her in a while, his responsbilities keeping him busy.

When they get to her joint shop/apartment he’s devastated seeing the disasterous state it's in. He runs in, when getting no response he rushes back out in a panic at the same time the old man in the building next to them arrives and clues them in. While Tore was away some gang activity got out of hand and his aunt’s shop had gotten caught in the crossfire. After getting the info they rushed to see her. Conversing with the doctors told Tore she was doing fine but she'd need treatment if she wanted to keep her independence. Of course all of it cost a hefty penny that Tore absolutely did not have but with this now on top of whatever Tauro wasn’t telling him there was no way he could leave. He takes up his old room in his aunt’s upstairs flat and is able to cruise by on his savings for a little while but it's not nearly enough. He tries to pick up his Aunt's mechanic work but he's too rusty, not holding a wrench in years and the expenses for parts would be far too much on his tight wallet. He keeps this all from Tauro.

Old Habits Die Hard

Being around Tauro again he falls back into the habit of intervening. Especially with how much worse he sees things have gotten and the boiling anger he has for whoever put his aunt in the state she’s in festering with no outlet. This, as expected, doesn’t go down well, leading to a squabble between the two men. Though hard feelings were never kept long. At the end Tore joinkingly suggests just becoming Tauro's bodyguard with all the experience he has but the fighter is firmly against it. At the time...

Eventually there’s a night Tauro stumbles into the shop wRECKED and Tore has to give him emergency stitches right on the couch cuz he refuses to go to the hospital. That’s the night he confronts Tauro. It doesn't get much of anywhere at first but after Tauro learns about Tore's financial difficulties with some snooping, stacks of costs Tore's aunt wasn't able to pay on top of her now piling hospital bills. Tore would never except money Tauro just gave to him, would tell Tauro he didn't want to take advantage of his new popularity and wealth. But if he felt like he earned it...Tauro finally relents in giving his friend the Bodyguard job.

Tore spends his nights and most of his days accompanying Tauro to his fights and meetings. Despite the work hours he cant think of anywhere else he'd rather be. Everything was looking up.
